the development officer will report to the economic development and innovation (edi) office and will assist the office in supporting technology transfer/innovation, industry partnerships business development, research activities and ingenuity, lakehead’s business incubator. they will assist staff in the edi office with intellectual property protection, entrepreneurial programming, events, economic development activities, and administration.

working in collaboration with the manager of ingenuity, half of their time will be used to assist in an increased number of entrepreneurship activities to promote start-ups and innovation in all faculties. this position will also help to run the physical space of ingenuity within cases, as well as breakout spaces, and help to cultivate an entrepreneurial and innovation ecosystem within 阿根廷vs墨西哥竞猜 , thunder bay, and northwestern ontario.  the development officer will also: support the team with marketing and communication tools; prepare researcher profiles; assist with the coordination of an increased number of industry-researcher and entrepreneurial events; promote research opportunities at the university to regional stakeholders; assist staff with the development of memorandum's of understanding and contracts between the university, business, industry, municipalities and first nations; and work to increase the number of start-up business opportunities currently developing amongst 世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛 and graduates at the university.

the successful incumbent is expected to have: an undergraduate university or college education in business, marketing, communications and/or economic development; minimum one (1) year working in technology transfer, commercialization, patent administration or innovation support and a minimum one (1) year working in economic development or supporting industry partnerships; ability and experience working with entrepreneurs; ability to train and provide training on specialized makerspace equipment; knowledge of business incubation programs, and provincial and federal programs and laws for business; knowledge of 阿根廷vs墨西哥竞猜 , the protocols and procedures of the university and the university’s intellectual property policy; and a passion for business and entrepreneurship.
