lakehead orillia celebrates achievements at 2023-24 athletic awards

april 5, 2024 – orillia, ont.

阿根廷vs墨西哥竞猜 ’s orillia campus celebrated a successful 2023-24 athletics season on thursday, april 4, handing out awards at the annual athletic awards banquet.

paige galbraith walked away with the female athlete of the year, with jonathan aronov claiming male athlete of the year. bethany foster received this year’s principal’s award for leadership in athletics.

“congratulations to all of the award winners, exceptional student athletes, and coaches on a successful season,” said drake aldred, coordinator of athletics and recreation. “the annual awards banquet is an opportunity to gather and highlight all of the hard work that goes into the season; your commitment to academics and athletics is remarkable and we look forward to witnessing your continued success as student-athletes.”

most valuable player and rookie of the year were also announced and presented to top athletes in each of the university’s sports teams: men’s and women’s hockey, dance, and men’s and women’s varsity indoor soccer.

join talkcampus for a session on resilience in studying!

  • how resilience can benefit you in your studies

  • learning to succeed by learning to fail 

academic integri-tea gathering

academic integri-tea is community of practice that provides a safe and collaborative space for faculty to talk about the common academic integrity issues they are experiencing in the classroom and share helpful tips with their peers. attendees are invited to make themselves a cup of tea (or coffee) and join with other instructors as we strive to positively influence the academic integrity culture at 阿根廷vs墨西哥竞猜 .

take a break from your studies and join a campus-wide egg hunt. student health and wellness has hidden 48 multicoloured plastic eggs around the orillia campus for 世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛 to destress and welcome the spring season. 

(or) fill your cup and tackle burnout

burnout is a state of emotional, physical, and mental exhaustion caused by excessive and prolonged stress. it occurs when you feel overwhelmed, emotionally drained, and unable to meet constant demands. as the stress continues, you begin to lose the interest and motivation that led you to take on a certain role in the first place.

burnout reduces productivity and saps your energy, leaving you feeling increasingly helpless, hopeless, cynical, and resentful.

join our puppy friends from precious paws rescue for some downward dogs and warrior poses. registration is required for this event (see below for link)

please bring a yoga mat if you have one, but mats will be provided in a limited quantity
