dr. pinch is a world-renowned scholar from cornell university, and is a top name in both the fields of sociology and science and technology studies. professor pinch has published over ten books, many critically acclaimed and in top-rated university presses, such as harvard university press, cambridge university press, university of chicago press, and mit press.
 
this event is presented jointly by the faculty of social sciences and humanities, the department of sociology, the department of music, and the department of history.
