lakehead legal services will be opening its doors in may 2015. our mandate is to provide excellent legal service to low income clients, as well as an experience based educational program for lakehead law 世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛 .  our work includes individual case files, teaching, community outreach and public legal education.

 

we are seeking an energetic, highly organized, flexible, individual with sound judgement, and excellent interpersonal skills, to join the clinic as our office administrator.  the clinic will be providing legal services for low-income clients, initially, in the areas of criminal law, and provincial offences, with a view to expanding areas of service  as time and resources allow.  familiarity with the legal system and experience with the administration of a busy law office environment is essential.

 
reporting to the clinic director, the office administrator ensures smooth operation of all day to day administrative matters at the clinic, including:
 

       providing administrative assistance to the director as needed; screening and referring calls and determining potential eligibility of clients;

       maintaining a database to collect and track statistics;

job description: the purpose of this internship is to train an intern on conducting research on developing a process for producing sulfonated kraft lignin to be used as a dispersant in the mining industry. the intern will study relevant literature, conduct experiments and analyze data at the biomass utilization research laboratory (burl). the intern will be involved in the research investigation on the modification of kraft lignin to produce anionic lignin and on assessing the performance of the product in various ore  samples received from a mining company. he/she will use nmr, ftir, btg, tga, chns and hplc to evaluate the properties of the sulfonated kraft lignin, and will compare the properties of commercial lignosulfonates with his/her product using various instruments including turbidity, zeta potential and light scattering analyzers.
 
qualifications: the intern can be a recent graduate (with a bsc or msc degree) in chemical engineering, chemistry, biology or forestry.

the thunder bay regional research institute is seeking a research assistant intern.
 
the successful candidate will be working in a laboratory that is based at the thunder bay regional research institute (tbrri); a health research institute that is fully affiliated with 阿根廷vs墨西哥竞猜 and the thunder bay regional health sciences centre. tbbri has three key research themes -- advanced detection devices, imaging guided interventions, and probe development and biomarker exploration. this laboratory is guided under the advanced detection devices scope and focuses on using hyperpolarized (hp) noble gas magnetic resonance imaging (mri), an innovative technology that provides spectacularly detailed images of structures and processes within the body. hp gas mri has the potential to allow medical researchers and health care providers to significantly improve diagnosis and treatment of a variety of diseases, including lung diseases, stroke, and cancer. this job will include involvement in all phases of design, construction, and optimization hp gas mri technologies for pulmonary functional imaging, brain imaging and other techniques using hp gas mri.
 
 
specific duties will include mri experiments with hyperpolarized (hp) noble gas, assistance with experiment scheduling, data archiving, and post-processing and analysis of images from the mr experiments. the intern will also prepare and work on health canada and research ethic board requirements, clinical protocol development, as well as in organizing studies with animals or patients and verifying any experiment or trial is scientifically sound and clearly described.
 
 
this position would be suitable for individuals who have a masters degree or experience in chemistry, physics, engineering or health sciences. high ranking undergraduate 世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛 will also be considered on a case-by-case basis. the individual should have a good background in physics, mathematics, chemistry, programming or health research services. the individual should also exemplary writing skills, experience in health canada and research ethic board applications is considered an asset. experience in medical imaging, specifically magnetic resonance imaging (mri) is also considered an asset.

under general supervision, the incumbent will provide administrative support to the dean of the faculty of health and behavioural sciences. the following is a brief outline of the responsibilities. a job fact sheet detailing the required duties is available in the office of human resources.
 
 
duties:
provide administrative support to the dean of health and behavioural sciences, including arranging appointments, meetings, conferences and events, travel, etc.;
type, distribute, and archive correspondence, minutes, and memorandums;
maintain the faculty of health and behavioural sciences' electronic filing system and webpages;
handle confidential documents (e.g., academic reappraisals, disciplinary proceedings, ballots for promotion, tenure and renewal [ptr]) following fippa protocols;
prepare acceptance letters of contract lecturers, ensuring that the necessary hire forms are signed letters of offer are completed, received are forwarded in a timely manner;
liaise and work collaboratively with various university departments and external agencies;
assist the dean in administering the lufa collective agreement, including sabbatical leave applications, merit applications, annual reports, and promotion, tenure and renewal matters;
receive, input, and distribute academic calendar change proposals for approval;
manage and coordinate the faculty annual reports process;
initiate and oversee paper-based course evaluations throughout the calendar year;
coordinate faculty recruitment processes, including tenure-track and limited-term appointments;
prepare various financial reports, as well as cheque requisitions, departmental budget transfers, and purchase requisitions for processing;
other related duties as required.
 
 
qualifications:
post-secondary education, preferably in administration, coupled with a minimum of two years' experience in a similar administrative support role;
proficiency with computer software programs, including the microsoft office and adobe suites, as well as webpage management;
experience operating google email and calendar scheduling systems;
working knowledge of database systems;
experience with datatel/colleague for budget reporting, purchase requisitions, et cetera considered an asset;
excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills;
ability to work and handle all office duties in a confidential and diplomatic manner;
ability to multitask a variety of high priority duties and work under the pressure of deadlines;
