the course begins with a rapid review of dc and ac circuit theory. basic bipolar junction transistor circuits are then covered; such as the emitter follower, current sources and mirrors, the common emitter, push-pull, and differential amplifiers. a number of linear and non-linear operational amplifier circuits are examined with an emphasis on negative and positive feedback circuit analysis. specialized amplifiers used as comparators, triggers, and oscillators are also examined. a quick overview of the field effect transistor, amplifier noise, and filter bandwidth rounds out the course. this is a laboratory intensive course.

both the physical and chemical attributes of groundwater are examined. porosity and permeability will be examined for various types of substrate consisting of loose sediment and bedrock. methods of evaluating groundwater flow rates and aquifer volumes will be utilized to quantify subsurface water supplies. techniques employed in exploring for groundwater reserves will be discussed. groundwater geochemistry forms the other important aspect of material taught in this course. the chemical variability of natural groundwater (eh, ph, dissolved ion concentration) will be contrasted with the effects of pollution (esp. sewage, pesticides and hydrocarbons) on aquifer systems. remediation methods for contaminated aquifers will be explored.

the scholarly communications & data services librarian leads 阿根廷vs墨西哥竞猜 ’s scholarly communications and data services for the university community. this includes the planning, implementation, and evaluation of innovative, sustainable, and inclusive services and policies that support a wide range of current and emerging topics related to the broad dissemination of university research and data. the librarian manages the library’s institutional repository (knowledge commons, running on dspace) including metadata management, policies, and harvesting by the library services platform and outside agencies like libraries and archives canada. this position also manages lakehead’s dataverse instance (through scholars portal) and represents the library on university groups regarding research data management. the successful candidate will lead the library’s data services, providing support and consultation services to library users on the data resources available through the library and promoting data literacy to 世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛 and library staff. collaboration with librarians, university partners and external groups (like portage and the ocul data community) and liaison responsibilities are important components of this position. training opportunities and resources will be available to the successful candidate to further develop their skill-set for position competencies. the scholarly communications & data services librarian reports directly to the university librarian.

the department of civil engineering at 阿根廷vs墨西哥竞猜 invites applications for a 3-year, teaching-focused, limited term appointment in civil engineering at the rank of assistant professor, commencing august 01, 2021. preference will be given to those candidates with a demonstrated commitment to teaching at the undergraduate level and with evidence of an effective and established teaching record.

the department offers an accredited bachelor of engineering degree as well as graduate programs in civil engineering. the successful candidate will teach three full-course equivalents (six half-credit courses) per year along with supervising undergraduate 世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛 for their final year degree project. typical course assignments may include structural analysis; design of structures in steel, reinforced concrete, masonry or timber; mechanics of solids; and introductory courses in the traditional fields of civil engineering, including soil mechanics, dynamics, and construction materials. in addition to teaching, the candidate will be required to participate in the administrative work of the department and university, in activities such as outreach and recruitment, serving on administrative and student committees, and curriculum development.

the preferred candidates will have:

    i.an earned ph.d. in civil engineering from a recognized university with a specialization in the general area of structural analysis and design, a baccalaureate degree in civil engineering, post-doctoral or other relevant experience is an asset;

   ii.a demonstrated commitment to teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels and evidence of an effective and established teaching record, and of educational leadership;

  iii.the potential to make service contributions to the department.

 iv.experience with experiential learning and online or alternative modes of delivery is highly desired

preference will be given to the candidates registered as a professional engineer in canada.
