my educational career began with teaching mathematics and computer science at various schools within the lambton county board of education. my switch to administration essentially coincided with amalgamations and the creation of the lambton kent district school board. after three years of experience as a secondary school vice-principal and eleven years as a principal, i moved into the supervisory officer role, first in student success/secondary program and then into human resources.
in my role with human resources, i have responsibilities to oversee:
- negotiations
- contract maintenance
- succession planning
- staff development
- appraisals
- staff discipline
- staffing
- grievances, arbitrations, human rights challenges, and other legal matters
- being in a mid-sized board, i also supervise a family of schools
as an experienced educator, i believe in giving back to those who are also on an educational journey. as such, i was actively involved in the associate teacher program as a classroom teacher and also in mentoring programs, both as a vice-principal/principal and as a supervisory officer. i am excited to extend this philosophy further now by being an instructor with the soqp program at 阿根廷vs墨西哥竞猜 .
just as being an administrator is an extension of teaching, a supervisory officer is an extension of being an administrator. to be successful, candidates must draw upon existing skills and apply them to new situations. i am hopeful that i can help soqp candidates navigate new challenges at the system level.
i enjoy sports such as golf, baseball, and hockey, along with family oriented activities involving games, woodworking, and boating.
