previous teaching/work: 

dr. raffo instructed as a continuing contract lecturer for the history department and continuing education and distance learning. his courses included  "the making of the modern world", "the hitler state",  "international history n the 20th century", and "peace movements in the 20th century".

research interests: 

dr. raffo's current main research interest is in local history and the development of oral history collections. in 2009, dr. raffo published "responding to unmet needs: 125 years of care in the community, a history of st. joseph's care group 1884-2009". previously in 2005, he published "from institution to community: a transformation of psychiatric services, [lakehead psychiatric hospital] 1934 - 2004".
