with several years of experience in distance education and e-learning in higher education, i use this extensive knowledge and expertise to provide operational and strategic leadership in the management and development of technology-enhanced services and initiatives administered through the teaching commons. as coordinator of learning technologies and innovation, i oversee the institutional learning management system (mycourselink/d2l) and other educational technologies and tools to support learning; lead ed-tech initiatives and pilot projects; support the development and delivery of online and hybrid courses; and, provide instructional design and technical support for faculty and administrative staff using technology in instruction and training.
i’m a long-standing member of the canadian network for innovation in education (cnie), ontario council of university lifelong learning (ocull) (currently past-president), and the ontario university council on e-learning. i’m also actively involved with ecampusontario and contact north initiatives and serve on several institutional teaching & learning, and advisory committees.
i hold a master of education (m.ed), bachelor of education (b.ed), and an honours bachelor of arts (psychology). as an advocate for lifelong learning, i regularly participate in professional development opportunities with a focus on educational technologies for learning.
