research interests:
dr. steven jobbitt received his phd in modern east central european history from the university of toronto in 2008. his current research includes projects on radical right-wing identity formation in hungary; representations of death and martyrdom in salazar's portugal; and globalization and the reinvention of the left in post-cold war europe and africa.
dr. steven jobbitt has traveled extensively in europe, and has lived a total of four years in hungary (1992-1995, 2003-2004). he is fluent in hungarian and technical editor of the ahea: e-journal of the american hungarian educators association.
