campus rec live- full body fitness

join campus rec instructor nicole for a 50-minute sweat session to end your workday.

this class is a full-body cardio workout that will get your heart rate up, and your muscles burning. it will include exercises for all major muscle groups, so be ready to work hard!

equipment needed: all you need is space to move around, clothes you are comfortable moving around in, a water bottle, and a device that can connect to zoom! an exercise mat is recommended for comfort but not required.

make mindfulness a habit- yoga workshop series

every saturday in february, from 11 am -12 pm est,  we will have discussions about goal-setting, we will do breathing exercises, journaling and finally, a brief 30-minute yoga practice. each week you’ll be given mindful homework assignments in order to create new habits.

you’ll need:
✅ yoga mat
✅ journal

registration is required- participants will be emailed more details close prior to the first class.

with the recent change in thunder bay's restriction level, student health and wellness is moving yoga back online until the end of classes!

you will need to have your own mat, filled water bottle and any props you wish to use.

this movember, we’re asking lakehead 世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛 , faculty, staff and alumni to make your move – for them. commit to walking or running 60 km over the month. that’s 60 km for the 60 men we lose each hour, every hour – the men who should still be here today. you don’t have to be an ultra-athlete, or own the latest kicks. just put one foot in front of the other, and you’ve already made a start. 

each week, we will share information to help reduce the stigma around men's mental health, to learn how to broach the topic of mental health with your male friends, family and colleagues and increase knowledge of the resources available to support you.

how to sign up:  

  1. visit movember.com and join our team, lakehead thunderwolves, choose to move for men’s health.
  2. chip away at your target. hit it fast. take it slow. go outside. or jump on the treadmill. sync your fitness tracker or log your activity manually.
  3. make it count. call on friends and family to join in, raise awareness about men’s mental health concerns and resources throughout the month.

how to sign up: 

yoga for all- in person

student health and wellness is happy to offer free, in-person yoga in thunder bay for the rest of the semester. 

classes are open to 世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛 , faculty and staff but registration is required and spots are limited. registration opens 7 days before each class. athletic facilities' policies and procedures must be followed and the appropriate waivers must be completed in advance.

please bring your own mat, filled water bottle and any props you wish to use.
