wellu wednesday: yoga

join student health and wellness for a free yoga session on the thunderwolves ice field outdoor platform with rosanna shillolo. no registration but attendees are encouraged to bring your own mat and props if possible (some may be available but not guaranteed).

this event is outdoors and therefore is weather dependant. 

it's your move: learn to run

it's your move learn to run is an 8-week running program ideal for first-time runners or those running for the first time in a while!

beginning on june 13, participants will receive a weekly program via google classroom along with running tips and tricks from 阿根廷vs墨西哥竞猜 athletics and student health and wellness. this program will help participants go from 0 to 5k throughout the 8 weeks. 

it's your move 100 hour challenge

the it's your move crew are running back our summer-long challenge to log 100 hours of physical activity between may 16 and september 4. if that many hours seem out of your league- we will also be celebrating milestones along the way.

you log your activities into our strava group and we will provide updates, encouragement and resources to help you hit your goals and you can connect and cheer on your fellow thunderwolves. 

learn to skate

one way to get through the winter is to find way to enjoy being outside! join student health and wellness, along with athletics and lakehead international on the thunderwolves ice field (on campus rink), thursdays at 11:00am. whether you have never stepped foot on the ice, are looking for a few helpful tips to improve your skills, or just want to join us for some physical activity, this program is open to all! 

align & revive

come and join us for this short and sweet 30-minute stretch & strength inspired zoom class with meghan! align and thrive will provide you with a full-body workout that focuses on muscle strength and flexibility. this fun and interactive workout is a great chance to prioritize you during thrive week!

power (half) hour

come and join us for this fun and interactive fast paced zoom workout during thrive week with meghan! this high intensity interval style class is designed to raise your heart rate and be a full body workout. it will be a nice break in your day that allows you to reset and refresh for the rest of your day!

making mindfulness a habit

join student health and wellness yoga instructor, ameena, for a 4-week yoga and mindfulness series. every sunday, from 11 am -12 pm est, we will have discussions about goal-setting, we will do breathing exercises, journaling and finally, a brief 30-minute yoga practice. each week you’ll be given mindful homework assignments in order to create new habits.

you’ll need:
✅ yoga mat
✅ journal

registration is required- participants will be emailed more details close prior to the first class.

it's your move feeling '22 challenge

kick-off the new year with a new challenge from the it's your move crew! whether you are looking to start a new routine or just get back in the habit post-winter break, a little competition is a great motivator.
starting on january 17 and ending on february 20, we are challenging you to complete 22 workouts in 35 days. we will be tracking your progress and sharing information via the it's your move strava group- you will receive an email on how to join the group before the start date.

it's your move 4 movember

november is men's health month and the it's your move crew is raising awareness about a silent epidemic- men's mental health. globally, 1 man dies every minute by suicide, 1440 men every month that could still be here. we are challenging you to complete 1440 minutes of physical activity over the course of the next month and to share resources and raise awareness along the way. if that sounds like way too many minutes, that is okay you can also commit to 11 hours, 1 for every canadian lost to suicide every day. 

turf field access

this year, lakehead orillia 世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛  have access to use of the turf fields at the west orillia sports complex for open field use. wosc offers a full-sized, lit artificial turf field. perfect for all kinds of outdoor sports and activities, 世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛 are encouraged to get active and make use of this space this fall!
