it's your move: fall4fitness challenge

have you fallen off your fitness routine at the start of the semester? no worries, we’ve got you covered! join us for a 6-week fitness challenge designed to help you get back on track and feel your best.

the goal: complete 4 workouts of at least 30 minutes each week. whether it’s hitting the gym, playing intramurals, attending a fitness class, or even a brisk walk—any activity counts! this challenge is all about building consistency and finding what works for you.

orillia: varsity kickoff

lakehead orillia athletics & recreation are welcoming 世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛 back to campus at the 2024 varsity fall kick-off at the west orillia turf field at 100 university ave, orillia, on. the game time is 7:00 pm on thursday, september 5th, 2024.

come out to cheer on our varsity indoor soccer athletes as they faceoff in a mixed-team inter-squad match. learn about how you can get involved with athletics & recreation, meet wolfie, and show your thunderwolves pride!

it's your move 100 hour challenge

the it's your move crew are running back our summer-long challenge to log 100 hours of physical activity but we've added a new wrinkle- not only will we be tracking your progress, we'll also be tracking which faculty or department is leading the way!

if 100 hours is too rich for your blood- don't worry we'll be celebrating those who hit 25, 50 and 75 hours over the course of the summer. 

lakehead orillia celebrates achievements at 2023-24 athletic awards

april 5, 2024 – orillia, ont.

阿根廷vs墨西哥竞猜 ’s orillia campus celebrated a successful 2023-24 athletics season on thursday, april 4, handing out awards at the annual athletic awards banquet.

paige galbraith walked away with the female athlete of the year, with jonathan aronov claiming male athlete of the year. bethany foster received this year’s principal’s award for leadership in athletics.

“congratulations to all of the award winners, exceptional student athletes, and coaches on a successful season,” said drake aldred, coordinator of athletics and recreation. “the annual awards banquet is an opportunity to gather and highlight all of the hard work that goes into the season; your commitment to academics and athletics is remarkable and we look forward to witnessing your continued success as student-athletes.”

most valuable player and rookie of the year were also announced and presented to top athletes in each of the university’s sports teams: men’s and women’s hockey, dance, and men’s and women’s varsity indoor soccer.

it's your move bingo challenge

the it's your move crew has a new fall challenge this semester! each week we'll post a new bingo card with physical activities and you'll try to complete a line. each line completed will equal an entry into a prize basket with lakehead gear.  

it's your move 100 hour challenge

the it's your move crew are running back our summer-long challenge to log 100 hours of physical activity between may 15 and september 3. if that many hours seem out of your league- we will also be celebrating each 25-hour milestone along the way with lakehead swag.

you log your activities into our strava group and we will provide updates, encouragement and resources to help you hit your goals and you can connect and cheer on your fellow thunderwolves.

it's your move 4x4 challenge

make physical activity a priority by challenging yourself to log 4 workouts of at least 30 minutes for 4 weeks starting on january 23.

we will be providing updates, encouragement and resources to help you with your challenge and you can connect and cheer on your fellow thunderwolves on our strava group (it's also how to keep track of your progress!). 

it's your move 150 challenge

a new school year and perhaps a new campus can wreak havoc with our routine. the it's your move team (a.k.a. lakehead student health and wellness, athletics and campus recreation) wants to help you make exercise a priority by challenging you to meet the canadian 24-hour movement guidelines recommendation of getting 150 minutes a week of moderate to vigorous physical activity for 6 weeks! the challenge begins on september 26 and wraps up on november 6.
