book swap

read your way to better well-being! studies have shown that reading as little as 6 minutes per day can improve your quality of sleep, reduce stress, and sharpen mental acuity. reading strengthens the neural circuits and pathways of our brain while lowering heart rate and blood pressure.

student health and wellness is holding a book swap so that you can scoop up some new reads without breaking out your wallet.

book swap guide:

grocery bus

as part of nutrition month, student health and wellness is offering a bus from lu to superstore on friday, march 8th, the bus will leave at 12 from outside student health and wellness and drop off at 2 pm.

a registered dietitian from the thunder bay health unit will be available for a grocery tour to highlight affordable and healthy options and answer any questions you may have about how to make the most of your budget and time.

take10: fill your cup and tackle burnout

burnout is a state of emotional, physical, and mental exhaustion caused by excessive and prolonged stress. it occurs when you feel overwhelmed, emotionally drained, and unable to meet constant demands. as the stress continues, you begin to lose the interest and motivation that led you to take on a certain role in the first place.

burnout reduces productivity and saps your energy, leaving you feeling increasingly helpless, hopeless, cynical, and resentful.

loving kindness meditation

our most important relationship is the one we have with ourselves. celebrate student health and wellness' love week by joining counsellor, holly maki, for a guided love and kindness meditation.

buddha said ‘unless we treat ourselves with love and compassion, we cannot reflect the same on others.’ once we start experiencing self-love and self-compassion for ourselves, we can show the same to others too.

mirrorless monday

today is mirrorless monday:

celebrate your uniqueness

take a break from the mirror today and be good to yourself and your body. accept yourself as you are and embrace the strengths and positive qualities you possess. remember that a mirror can't reflect how amazing you really are.

everyone has different strengths regardless of their shape or size. let yours shine.

palentine's day
