i entered lu as a mature student. i had tried college a couple of times with little success. it was just not for me. hearing of the outdoor rec program at lu gave me hope that the third time would be the charm; and it was.
i chose lu because of the outdoor rec program, but also because of its location. i wanted a new experience away from my home and thunder bay provided a rich outdoor environment in which to learn and play.

burlington
originally from burlington, ontario (located in the gta) i came to lakehead for the experience, change in lifestyle/environment, and for the staff and reputation of both the physics and education departments. i enjoyed studying at the thunder bay campus and living in what i would consider a small city that still boasts nearly all of the amenities of city life with the natural world at your fingertips such as hunting, fishing, pond hockey, hiking, and camping.

i originally studied at george brown college and chose to transfer to 阿根廷vs墨西哥竞猜
because it gave me the flexibility to complete my degree in two years after receiving my advanced diploma. i struggled in my first year here and ran into academic challenges. it was at this time that i met dr. birbal singh who reassured me and helped me regain a focus for my studies.

i chose lakehead because of the success rate of business graduates in the workplace. i know that with a business degree, it will help me help others and make a difference with other aboriginal people from home or all over ontario.
two of the things that stick out to me about lakehead are the small class sizes and open door policy that professors have here. having those options to meet with professors helped me to improve more academically throughout the school year and years to come when professors remember you.

living and studying in northern ontario allows me to continue to take part in outdoor activities (like competing with the nordic ski team) while studying at a university with a small-school advantage. this has given me a place to grow, build my confidence and access supports if i need them.
