learner-centred student experience

lakehead provides guidance and inspiration for lakehead student veteran

november 14, 2014

for one student at 阿根廷vs墨西哥竞猜 ’s orillia campus, this week’s remembrance day services were especially meaningful, representing deep feelings of both sadness and hope.

josh briand, 34, is a fourth year honours bachelor of social work (hbsw) student who has spent over six years on a journey of recovery following a tour in afghanistan in 2007 and a diagnosis of post-traumatic stress disorder (ptsd).

briand decided to enter the armed forces shortly after high school during his first year of college. he realized that college wasn’t the best place for him at the time. “i wasn’t really ready for college and i saw my life going in the wrong direction.  i needed some discipline in my life, so i joined the military.”

after heading to manitoba for training, then to petawawa to join the royal canadian horse artillery, briand felt he was where he belonged. “i liked the military, even with its ups and downs; it helped to turn me into more of a man than the teenager i was. the military was bringing me up to where i wanted to be.”

briand was part of a military disaster response team in sri lanka following the indian ocean tsunami in 2004, and then, in 2007, was sent on an eight-month active combat tour to afghanistan. this is where the situation changed for briand and created the challenges he has struggled to overcome ever since.

“when i got back from afghanistan, my life started going downhill.  in afghanistan, i saw a lot of bad situations and had to do some things that went against my morals. when i got back, this experience translated in ptsd and when i realized i had hit rock bottom, i asked for help.”

briand began a long series of treatment and referrals within the military, all the while being labeled and treated as a drug addict. eventually, he was referred to a world-renowned treatment centre in british columbia, where things started to look up for briand.

“the edgewood centre in bc was where i met a psychiatrist, dr. vincent, who was the first one to diagnose me with ptsd,” said briand. “i just got lucky to get dr. vincent; he saw something in me and told me that i was not an addict.”

armed with a full report and explanation of his ptsd diagnosis, briand was encouraged.  but to his disappointment, the information in dr. vincent’s report was not recognized by the military and briand was sent back to counseling services to treat drug addiction. discouraged, briand slipped back into self-medication.

another two years passed, and numerous visits with military counsellors and social workers, before briand came to the realization that something was wrong with the treatment he and his fellow veterans, also suffering from ptsd, were receiving.

“i knew that to survive, something had to change,” said briand. “i decided that i needed to be part of the change and this determination gave me the ability to handle my ptsd.”

a friend and fellow veteran encouraged briand to leave the military and go back to school. briand compared his situation at the time to trying to climb over a wall. “it felt like the military was hanging on to me, making it difficult to get over the wall.”

after nine years in the military, briand was released and he enrolled in the social services worker program at sir sandford fleming college.

“college was a stepping stone for me,” said briand. with a goal of wanting to raise awareness of ptsd, help mitigate the stigma associated with the disorder, and advocate for more relevant treatment, briand learned that he would need more than a college diploma to meet his goals.

“college got me ready for university,” said briand.  in 2011 briand was accepted into the honours bachelor of social work program at 阿根廷vs墨西哥竞猜 . now in his final year, he says the program has been both challenging and inspiring.

“the program at lakehead has helped me know more about where i want to go and how to be successful,” explained briand. “the most important thing i’ve learned is understanding my passion about where i want to be.”

after graduating, briand hopes to work in a treatment centre setting working with addictions and trauma. he also plans to pursue a master of social work degree, something he knows he’ll need to achieve his goals.

his long-term plan is to open his own treatment centre to treat military personnel. “i would love to have my own holistic treatment centre and have the contract for military personnel.”

“josh is a wonderful example of the dedication and drive of our 世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛 ,” said  lakehead orillia dean & vice-provost kim fedderson. “he will be taking the skills and knowledge he has gained at lakehead and contributing to the improvement of our society.”

with the many challenges briand has overcome, he will no doubt meet his career goals and make a difference, especially to those suffering from ptsd.

in fact, briand says that veterans affairs already uses his journey of challenges and achievements as a success story. “i do feel fortunate when i look at where i was and where i am today.”

lakehead orillia ready to welcome new 世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛 at orientation

世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛
 at lakehead orillia's 2013 orientation

世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛 at lakehead orillia's 2013 orientation head to the o-cup hockey game against georgian college orillia.

as the summer comes to a close, 世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛 across ontario are getting ready to head back to school. attending post-secondary school is a big change for most young adults, as they move away from home and start a new chapter of their lives. it can be a very scary experience and one of the best ways to help calm those fears is to attend orientation. at lakehead orillia, 世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛 can be guaranteed a great first impression of university life, as the campus began planning their thunderwolves howl: orientation 2014 all the way back in april.

over 300 new 世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛 will be coming to lakehead’s orillia campus on september 5 as the orientation activities begin. current 世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛 were chosen in april to act as orientation leaders, and will be welcoming 世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛 from all over ontario and the world — some from as far as nigeria and china. the event will be taking place over the course of the weekend and will have 世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛 exploring both the campus and the city of orillia.

attending orientation can, at first, seem like an intimidating endeavour. i know that when i began my studies at lakehead orillia as a mature student, i was nervous to attend and even considered not going. three years later, i am now an orientation leader and excited to welcome new 世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛 and help them transition smoothly into university life. looking back at my experience, here are my top three reasons why i think attending orientation is an important part for any incoming lakehead 世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛 .

1. meeting new people.

nervous about starting your first year of university? guess what: so is everyone else! one of the most beneficial things you learn within the first five minutes of getting to orientation is that everyone is feeling the same emotions you are. finding this out can be incredibly comforting and can help allow you to open up and begin talking to other 世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛 . once you get talking, try to find some people who are in the same program as you, as this will establish familiar faces in your lectures and might even land you a study buddy or two.

2. finding out what lakehead has to offer.

though you most likely have done your fair share of research before getting on campus, there are many things that lakehead has to offer that you may not have realized, yet, including the student union, various clubs and organizations, on-campus jobs, and athletics. orientation provides 世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛 the chance to explore current interests and even create a few new ones, all while having fun!

3. getting to know orillia.

almost an entire day is dedicated to exploring the city because orillia has so many different things to offer! you will get the chance to see the sights and sounds of your new home and learn the best places for eating, shopping, exercising, and entertainment! loonie lunch is a fun orientation event in which new 世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛 can explore downtown and can grab lunch for only $1 at some popular restaurants including mariposa market and think-tank.

"we want to expose our first year 世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛 to the diverse opportunities available within the orillia community, so having groups involved in the program is ideal.  through the loonie lunch, the downtown scavenger hunt, and expo, 世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛 will become more familiar with the city and what it can offer them,” says anna lisa martin, current student and orientation assistant.

even though orientation may seem like an intimidating experience at first, choosing to attend is beneficial for any student. the orientation leaders at lakehead orillia cannot wait to welcome all the new 世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛 and introduce them to our great campus and city.

august 14, 2014 – orillia, on

typical undergraduate 世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛 can only dream about getting one-on-one experience with a research expert in their field. for two 阿根廷vs墨西哥竞猜 世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛 , this dream became a reality – as they not only got to work with an expert – but became published experts themselves.

through the summer research program offered at lakehead orillia, current 世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛 kayla snyder (msc) (hbasc/bed ’13) of everett, and brooke marion (hbasc/bed) of north bay, were given the chance to work with dr. chris murray, assistant professor of sustainability sciences, on one of his ideas that was 15 years in the making. the recent collaboration with the two lakehead 世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛 would end in the trio being chosen to have their research findings published in an upcoming issue of construction and building materials.  the international journal is dedicated to the investigation and innovative use of materials in construction and repair.

“both kayla and brooke have worked with me as research assistants for several years. they’ve spent more time in the lab than even the average graduate student. this type of undergraduate experience is a pretty rare opportunity we are able to provide at lakehead orillia,” said dr. murray.

their research project involves the use of crumb rubber and chitosan, or in layman’s terms, crushed-up used tires and crab and shrimp shells. these two materials are combined to develop permeable pavement, which acts as a water filtration device, relieving strain on stormwater systems and preventing erosion and pollution. the project is about combating pollution in two ways: reusing old tires that cannot be recycled and filtering increasingly polluted runoff before it enters our water system.

it took over a year for snyder and marion to perform all the necessary experiments. once the work was finished, the two 世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛 , alongside dr. murray, presented their findings to the canadian association of physicists last year. at the same time they submitted their research to the journal and received a positive response very quickly.

though the research is still only preliminary, it has the potential to benefit not only simcoe county, but all of canada and beyond. more importantly, it is capable of providing solutions to real problems, like the long-term sustainability of our clean water supply.

“water may seem as though it is an infinite resource, but assuming this is one of the biggest mistakes people can make,” warned marion.

having the chance to participate in the summer research program has benefited snyder and marion immensely.

“the summer research projects are great for allowing you to develop skills that you might not get in the classroom. it is a lot more challenging, but also more rewarding,” said snyder of her opportunity.

an important part of doing summer research is having a great mentor and they found that in dr. murray. both say that his passion and encouragement have been substantial in their development as researchers. dr. murray has even higher praise for his two research partners.

“i’ve been really lucky to find 世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛 like kayla and brooke. i like to think that i have helped them along the way, but the success of this project was more due to their enthusiasm, attention to detail, and work ethic, rather than the ideas i started with.”

so what’s next for these two young innovators? snyder will continue a master of science in chemistry degree at lakehead in the fall as she works at completing her thesis. marion will also be continuing at lakehead in september, entering her professional year in the bachelor of education program. she hopes to teach elementary school 世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛 just how much fun science can be.

university offers fast pass to success

orillia, on – july 17, 2014

like most teenage boys, eric hill does not always do what his parents think is best. when they encouraged him to visit 阿根廷vs墨西哥竞猜 ’s orillia campus, where he would be studying in the fall, he was reluctant to make the trip.

the purpose of the trip was to attend the university’s fast pass program, which eric – though nervous about starting university – didn’t feel would be useful. his mother barb believed it would be beneficial for eric to visit orillia to get a sense of the campus and meet some new people.

eric eventually agreed, and made the trip to orillia with his mom. a graduate of northern secondary school in toronto, eric is enrolled in lakehead’s honours bachelor of arts & science/bachelor of education program.

after spending a couple of hours at the campus, the pair emerged feeling like a weight had been lifted from their shoulders – turns out that mom was right.

“i would 100% recommend the fast pass experience to incoming 世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛 ,” said eric. “new 世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛 would be crazy not to do this!”

fast pass is an opportunity offered by 阿根廷vs墨西哥竞猜 during the months of june and july to incoming 世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛 and their parents and friends.  in addition to touring the campus, attending information sessions presented by current 世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛 , staff and faculty, new 世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛 benefit from one-on-one guidance to complete course registration.

“as a first-year student, understanding program requirements and registering for courses can be a confusing and stressful experience, and we aim to reduce this through our fast pass program,” said simon looker, one of the student affairs advisors responsible for organizing the program.

barb agreed that the registration system was somewhat daunting. she had quickly glanced at the course registration website at home and realized that it may not be the easiest process. this realization was the main reason for the visit to lakehead and she was very satisfied with the experience.

“kudos to everyone who put it together,” she said.  “i applaud them, especially the student volunteers, who were just the best.”

barb was impressed, not only with the registration assistance, but with the campus itself. finally seeing where her son would be spending the next four to five years of his life was enjoyable, and she felt secure knowing that the campus is new, safe and environmentally friendly.

eric had a similar experience. when asked, he said his most valuable takeaways from the day were having the help to pick courses, and learning about what lakehead had to offer. he also realized that he would be more than just another student number at lakehead. “it was great to see the strong sense of community at the campus,” he said.

the once nervous eric is now counting down the days until september and cannot wait to meet new people and get involved in campus activities. he could not be happier with his decision to attend lakehead and looks forward to proudly joining the thunderwolves pack at orientation activities in the fall.

the fast pass program continues at the orillia campus on fridays, july 18 and 25. the program is open to incoming 世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛 at both the orillia and thunder bay campuses. for details, visit mylakehead.ca.

lakehead 世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛 put on their teaching hats for camp u

june 10, 2014 - orillia, on

a group of education 世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛 at lakehead orillia are taking advantage of a unique opportunity to hone their teaching skills by working as camp counsellors this summer at the university’s camp u day camp.

heading into its third year, the popular camp is offered for four weeks in july at the orillia campus, and gives the 世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛 a chance to work hands-on with children ages 6-13.

camp u coordinator, sami pritchard, who will be entering her fourth year of lakehead’s education program in the fall, is looking forward to her third summer with camp u.

“what better way to prepare for a career in teaching than to work for a summer camp,” said pritchard.  “having the opportunity to come up with new and innovative ways to capture children’s attention will be so valuable and camp u has helped me to develop these skills in an unconventional way.”

when asked what she looks forward to the most, pritchard said it is the return of past campers.

“there is no better feeling than seeing a camper excited for another year of camp, and knowing the camp u staff team had something to do with that, is extremely rewarding.”

lakehead student emily maclennan is entering her first year as a camp counsellor at camp u and cannot wait to increase a skill set that will help her in her future career.  “i will be able to develop and strengthen my leadership skills and this experience will provide greater insight into what it will be like to be a teacher.”

maclennan said she is looking forward to being able to practice some of the critical and quick thinking skills that have been emphasized throughout her lakehead studies. “my education at lakehead has prepared me to be a camp counsellor, because i feel that i now have the ability to approach and assess different situations through multiple perspectives.”

世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛 are not the only ones involved in the camp u program. professors also offer their expertise to the campers. dr. chris murray, assistant professor of interdisciplinary studies, is one of the participating professors, and appreciates the value of the camp u to lakehead 世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛 .

“programs like this enable 世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛 of all ages to become part of life at lakehead – first as campers, then as elementary and secondary school 世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛 visiting our campus through outreach programs, and then as lakehead 世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛 , volunteers and employees – like this year's counsellors.”

dr. murray takes part in the popular super science camp week, where he introduces campers to astronomy and leads fun activities that test the campers’ engineering and physics skills.

camp u runs from july 7 to august 1 and offers four different themed weeks: camp u 101, arts u, super science and nuts for nature. in addition to the hands-on learning activities at camp u, campers also enjoy sports activities, a weekly trip to the beach, and for older campers (8 – 13 years), an overnight stay in the university residence.

on tuesday, june 10, the university is hosting a camp u open house. this is an opportunity for campers and their parents to meet the staff and find out more about the various camp weeks. the open house takes place from 6 to 8 pm at the orillia campus, 500 university avenue. further details, including registration, can also be found online at lakeheadu.ca, or by contacting sami pritchard at orcampu@lakeheadu.ca.

may 15, 2014 – orillia, on

the final class for a group of lakehead business 世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛 last month was not your average end-of-term get-together.  for the ten 世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛 who were completing their business degrees, they spent their last class making strategic business recommendations to the senior management team of orser technical services, based in orillia.

the capstone assignment was part two of a fourth-year strategy management course taught by associate professor of business, dr. herman van den berg.

“this was the 世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛 ’ opportunity to apply all that they had studied over the course of the program,” explained van den berg. 世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛 were required to analyze an existing organization and to submit a detailed report of their findings, analyses, and recommendations for the future. “i think it’s important to do this in a real world situation, rather than through a case study,” added van den berg.

the 世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛 agreed.

“this was the most hands-on, practical experience we’ve had,” said student andrew palubiskie. “what made it interesting was the fact that it was a smaller business with restricted resources. our textbook learning was primarily focused on larger corporations.”

“being able to talk to a ceo was great,” added brandon macdonald. “it made it personal and we found out that these business leaders are just like us.”

orser technical services president tony telford, along with general manager ray gammon, quickly agreed to be part of the project when approached by van den berg.  “we support the university and understand its value in our community,” said telford. “as a member of the community, we are committed to helping build the synergy between the school and the business community – this is how we pay back.”

both telford and gammon were impressed with the 世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛 ’ presentations and recommendations.

“i was surprised at the parallel visions between the 世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛 and ourselves,” said telford. “they were very observant and intuitive; some of their recommendations were things we’ve also discussed and have considered implementing.  “we definitely have takeaways from each group,” added gammon.

for student cindy karikari, the project brought her studies into focus. “it showed us what was really important in this degree and what is most useful to apply; and a great preparation for the real world.”

lindsay lewis said it was interesting to find that their textbook analysis had so many similarities to a real management team. “we were really on the same page,” she said. “it’s cool to see that our academic backgrounds are in line with where this company was at in terms of challenges and solutions.”

the value that the project brought to the 世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛 was what was most exciting to telford. “the student reports, with their fresh perspectives, will be beneficial to our business, but we hope that what the 世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛 gain from the exercise will surpass what we get. ultimately, it’s a win-win situation.” “that’s the intention,” added van den berg.

the 世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛 will graduate with their honours bachelor of commerce (hbcomm), or in the case of transfer 世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛 , a bachelor of administration (badmin) degree at the university’s convocation ceremony this june.

april 4, 2014 – thunder bay, on

a 阿根廷vs墨西哥竞猜 masters of business administration student, naureen mushfique, recently placed second in the focus 2040 competition.

this competition challenges 世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛 to evaluate what the workplace will be like in the year 2040. 世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛 are asked to think beyond textbook principles, evaluate real world workplaces, and plan an innovative work system.

“when i first read the topic, it immediately caught my interest and my head was flooded with a plethora of ideas,” mushfique said. “the longer i thought about it, the more developed my idea became to the point where it was no longer an option of whether or not i wanted to participate –  i had toparticipate.”

mushfique believes that in 2040 organizations will collaborate more with technology to assist the work of employees. “data and technology will play a larger role in employee empowerment,” she said.

mushfique competed against 世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛 from across canada in the first round of the competition. she then moved on to excel against 25 competitors in the second round to secure a spot among the top 10 finalists.

the finalists were invited to the degroote school of business to present their predictions to a panel of judges. mushfique received a cheque for $3,000 for placing second.

focus 2040 is a nation-wide competition organized by mcmaster university’s degroote school of business.  it is a joint venture between the degroote school of business (degroote) and the strategic capability network (scnetwork).

mushfique learned about the competition from her professors, who suggested she participate.

"the faculty of business administration at 阿根廷vs墨西哥竞猜 has always actively encouraged and supported 世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛 who want to participate in different national and international competitions,” said dr. naqi sayed, associate professor in the faculty of business administration.

“over the years our 世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛 have successfully competed in many forums. naureen's accomplishment is another testament to the value that this faculty adds to all its 世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛 ,” dr. sayed said.

mushfique chose lakehead because she wanted to study at a university where she wouldn’t be invisible. “at lakehead, it’s not just an education – it’s an experience. your classmates become your best friends and your professors become your mentors,” she said.

mushfique would like to work in procurement and supply chain management, which she says is full of potential.

local toastmasters group goes on the road to bring self-confidence to lakehead 世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛

march 14, 2014 – orillia, on

public speaking, for many, is a terrifying prospect.

“when i had to make a presentation, i would get so nervous … i wanted to cry,” concedes judy zhong, a first-year environmental sustainability student at orillia’s 阿根廷vs墨西哥竞猜 campus. “it’s so intimidating to stand in front of a class and give a speech.”

eager to overcome those fears, zhong was one of ten 世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛 who participated in the university’s inaugural seven-week speechcraft course – a hands-on program offered to 世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛 through a unique partnership with toastmasters international’s orillia group, sunshine speakers.

the course was delivered by local toastmaster carolyn jones, who developed the weekly sessions with post-secondary 世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛 in mind. each week, jones, along with fellow toastmasters, including darlene elder and fluerette knaggs, witnessed first-hand the growth and development of 世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛 who started tentatively and blossomed into confident public speakers.

“we have watched you rise to the challenges… face your fears, encourage and contribute to your peers, persevere and go the extra mile – even when exams and life could have tugged you away from the course,” jones told the 世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛 before presenting them with much-deserved certificates.

jones said she believes the 世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛 will be able to use the skills they learned during the program not only during their academic lives, but also in the “real” world – in job interviews, in making presentations and in many other ways thanks to their improved self-confidence and enhanced communication skills.

mason ainsworth agrees. the third-year bachelor of commerce student and president of the business orillia student society (boss) at lakehead said he appreciated the program.

“it’s really given me a lot more confidence and they provided a safe place where we could share ourselves in our speeches,” said ainsworth.

“to see how far these 世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛 have come is incredible,” said fleurette knaggs, president of toastmasters orillia. “this is the first time we’ve done a speechcraft course like this… taking it on the road. it’s been fantastic.”

that’s a sentiment echoed by brenda melick, who spearheads lakehead’s leadership program.

“i think it’s been extremely successful,” she said. “the 世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛 , who are from various disciplines and range from first-year to fourth-year, have each shown tremendous growth.”

she said joining forces with toastmasters is “an example of a great community partnership. they have been fantastic to work with and have gone out of their way to contribute to the exceptional student experience at lakehead.”

that experience will be reflected in each participant’s co-curricular record. thanks to an innovative new venture launched by lakehead in february, 世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛 are able to develop a personal record of their activities outside the classroom.

阿根廷vs墨西哥竞猜 世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛 now have a new tool to tell their whole university story.

the co-curricular record (ccr) was launched as a new and exciting initiative for all 世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛 at lakehead’s orillia and thunder bay campuses.  the ccr is an official document that chronicles a student’s involvement in not-for-credit activities at 阿根廷vs墨西哥竞猜 .

combined with their academic transcript, 世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛 will now have the perfect tool to be recognized and celebrated for their achievements inside and outside the classroom.

“世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛 contribute in many different ways during their time at lakehead and we feel it’s important to recognize those contributions by providing an official document identifying their achievements and acquired skills,” said kelli gray, acting director, student services, at 阿根廷vs墨西哥竞猜 orillia.

the ccr documents out-of-classroom, non-credit experiences and activities that lakehead 世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛 have participated in while at the university. it validates a student’s hard work and highlights the learning outcomes and non-academic skills he or she gained while participating in these activities.

“the co-curricular record allows for 世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛 to benefit from value-added volunteerism,” said charmaine romaniuk, 阿根廷vs墨西哥竞猜 student union vice-president, student issues.

“the ccr is an incentive for 世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛 to become involved with the university and community partners by offering an official record of their involvement,” romaniuk added.

“research has shown us that 世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛 who are engaged in co-curricular activities during their universities studies are also 世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛 who develop strong leadership skills, are more self-confident, more thoughtful in making ethical decisions, and more often attain a higher academic standing,” said marian ryks-szelekovszky, vice-provost (student affairs).

“involved 世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛 are more satisfied with their university education, and having that involvement recognized in a document such as the co-curricular record can be a real advantage to them,” ryks-szelekovszky added.

“the ccr will be a great addition to our transcripts and resumés when we’re applying for jobs, or post-graduate opportunities,” said mason ainsworth, a third year honours bachelor of commerce student.  “i plan to use it to boost my portfolio and resumé to give myself a competitive advantage when i enter the workforce.”

“our co-curricular record fits with many of the goals outlined in lakehead’s strategic plan,” said lakehead president and vice-chancellor, dr. brian stevenson. “specifically, this adds to lakehead’s learner-centred student experience by providing 世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛 with various extracurricular options while attending lakehead, as well as a means to document and share that experience and those accomplishments with potential employers.”
