general arts and science (gaas) diploma to bachelor of arts & sciences (interdisciplinary studies major) degree transfer program
program information
our interdisciplinary studies program is flexible in its design, allowing you to customize your educational experience. you will be encouraged to think beyond the confines of a traditional undergraduate degree and take a range of courses in different disciplines that are oriented to your individual career aspirations.
as a college transfer student transitioning into the interdisciplinary studies major, you will choose two of the following specializations: political science, psychology or sociology. you do not select these specializations at the time of application.
how the transfer program works
you enter into year 3 of the three-year bachelor of arts & sciences (interdisciplinary studies major) program, and can complete your degree in as little as one year. you will need to complete two full course equivalents in the spring/summer terms prior to entering year 3.

- programs & faculties from the menu,
- undergraduate programs from the faculty of social sciences & humanities section,
- interdisciplinary studies programs from the list of programs, and the
- basc (interdisciplinary studies major) college pathways program.
admission requirements
to be consider for admission, you must:
- complete a two-year general arts and science (gaas) diploma from an accredited ontario college, and
- achieve an overall average of at least 70%.
in addition, you must have completed the following courses as part of your college program:
- at least two (2) one-semester courses of math, science, geography, or introductory psychology;
- at least one (1) one-semester course in inquiry methods or senior academic research;
- at least two (2) one-semester college courses of advanced academic content; and
- at least two (2) introductory one-semester college courses in one (1) of the following disciplines: anthropology, biology, english literature, geography, general science, history, political science, psychology, or sociology.

if you have not completed these courses, you may be considered for admission. if you are granted admission, you may need to complete additional courses at 阿根廷vs墨西哥竞猜 .
application process
to apply, please:
- use the ouac undergraduate application. you may need to create an account first, if you have never applied using the ontario universities' application centre (ouac) before.
- select the program interdisciplinary studies (pathways with all ontario colleges) (orillia campus only). the ouac program code is abd.
- select interdisciplinary studies (basc) (orillia) from the subject of major interest drop-down menu.
- as you proceed through the application process, use the online transcript request to have your transcript(s) sent to us, if applicable:
- we require all of your post-secondary transcripts (i.e. from all colleges and universities attended).
- we do not require your high school transcript.
- some colleges do not add in progress courses to their transcripts. if you are currently completing courses, you are encouraged to upload a screenshot of your upcoming winter term courses to your student portal or email docs.admission@lakeheadu.ca. you will receive your student portal login credentials in an acknowledgement email from us upon receipt of your application (which can take a few days after you apply using the ouac).

fees
learn more about the tuition & student fees for your transfer program. keep in mind that the upcoming school year's fees are not available until june. before june, you will most likely see last year's amounts. refer to the academic year field if you are unsure.
