how to apply: 

partnership development grants are expected to respond to the objectives of the insight and/or the connection programs.

these grants provide support over one to three years to teams/partnerships, led by a project director, to:

  • develop research and/or related activities in the social sciences and humanities—these can include knowledge mobilization and the meaningful involvement of 世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛 and emerging scholars, by fostering new partnerships with existing and/or potential partners; or
  • design and test new partnership approaches for research and/or related activities that can result in best practices or models—these can either be adapted by others or have the potential to be scaled up to a regional, national or international level.

partnership funding is intended for formal partnerships between postsecondary institutions and/or organizations of various types. for more information, see the definitions for formal partnership and partner organization.

nserc-european commission – joint call on quantum technologies

how to apply: 

the natural sciences and engineering research council of canada (nserc) and the european commission (ec), under the banner of  horizon europe  (horizon-cl4-2021-digital-emerging-01-23: international cooperation with canada [ria]), are partnering on a call for research proposals on quantum technologies. as our dependence on an increasingly digital society grows, quantum science presents considerable opportunities for new insights, discoveries, technological developments and applications that cut across disciplines and can have impacts in many sectors of the economy and society, globally.

this call builds on a long tradition of europe-canada (eu-canada) collaboration and complementary interests and research expertise in quantum research. the call will support eu-canada research collaborations to advance the development of quantum technologies. eligible canadian participants will receive funding from nserc to support their involvement in the joint project. it is expected that these jointly funded projects will contribute to the following outcomes:

  • advances in quantum technologies in specific areas of mutual eu-canada interest including quantum computing and simulation, quantum networking and communication, quantum sensing and metrology.
  • reinforcement of the eu-canada research excellence in the specific areas of mutual interest described above, including the establishment of strategic partnerships in research, education and training.

nserc-european commission

zero emission vehicle awareness initiative

how to apply: 

natural resources canada’s zero emission vehicle awareness initiative is now accepting applications for funding until august 16, 2021 at 23:59 (eastern daylight time) for projects to be completed no later than march 31, 2023.

this call for proposals seeks proposals for new and innovative projects that aim to address awareness and knowledge gaps among canadians and businesses on zevs and zev technologies, including battery electric, plug-in hybrid electric and hydrogen fuel cell for light, medium and heavy-duty on-road, off-road, and micro-mobility solutions.

  • for projects with for-profit organizations, the maximum amount payable by this program can be up to 50% of total project costs.
  • for projects with not-for-profit organizations or provincial, territorial, regional or municipal governments or their departments or agencies where applicable, the maximum amount payable by the program can be up to 75% of total project costs.
  • for projects where the proponent is an indigenous organization, indigenous community or a registered indigenous business, the maximum amount payable by this program can be up to 75% of total project costs, regardless of whether they are for-profit or not.

the specific objectives of this funding opportunity are to:

  • improve the understanding of the causes, defining measures, and avenues for prevention, detection and management of sleep deprivation and insomnia, including in the context of health disparities, and indigenous peoples' health and well-being, through coordinated data collection and research activities across the cihr research pillars to co-create new knowledge and technical and scientific expertise;
  • accelerate the iterative, bi-directional translation of research results and evidence into practice for improved health and well-being associated with poor sleep hygiene and insomnia;
  • develop, implement, evaluate, and validate interventions that foster improved sleep health and well-being as they relate to insomnia and sleep deprivation, evaluate outcomes of interventions, and accelerate the mobilization of research evidence of best, promising, and wise practices to bridge gaps between research outcomes and health impacts for the betterment of sleep; and
  • build, foster, and promote relevant sleep research capacity, including training, career development, and experiential opportunities through a high-quality, multidisciplinary capacity development and mentoring environment that actively engages trainees and researchers at all career stages and across  ethnicities, including indigenous investigators.

jdrf canada – brain canada addressing mental health in type 1 diabetes team grants

how to apply: 

brain canada and jdrf are pleased to officially launch the jdrf canada – brain canada addressing mental health in type 1 diabetes team grants, a program to support research on the development, validation, or implementation of interventions that address mental health concerns in people with type 1 diabetes. 

this new funding opportunity is open to research teams of two or more independent investigators from different institutions, or distinct departments within the same institution.

the jdrf canada – brain canada addressing mental health in type 1 diabetes team grants will offer two grants of up to $250,000 each over two years to fund the development and testing of sustainable, scalable approaches that will enable improved support for canadians who live with type 1 diabetes and are affected by mental health disorders, and will translate into better quality of life and diabetes-related health outcomes for these populations.

projects of interest include those that: 

  • focus on interventions (e.g., behavioral health, peer support, clinical algorithms, etc.) that support these populations
  • consider mental health disorders such as depression, eating disorders, diabetes distress, etc.
  • address high-risk groups of particular interest (e.g., children & adolescents, young adults, diverse populations, etc.)

interested applicants will first be required to register a team by september 15, 2021 at 17:00 et. select applicants will be invited to proceed to the full application phase. the deadline to submit a full application is october 28, 2021 at 17:00 et.

how to apply: 

the sub contractor must provide services to conduct a review of academic and applied research literature on psychological safety (and related concepts) in the workplace, with the focus on military and para-military organizations. in addition, the sub contractor must develop a scale that takes into account all of the key dimensions related to psychological safety (and related concepts) that can be included in a survey and administered to militarypersonnel.

i am reaching out on behalf of crohn’s and colitis canada, the national health charity committed to finding the cures for crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis, and improving the lives of children and adults affected by these chronic diseases.

crohn's and colitis canada and pfizer canada's women in ibd awards provide research program funding to 

recognize women of influence who are making outstanding contributions to the field of ibd research.

 

the women in ibd: outstanding researcher award recognizes an exceptional female ibd basic or clinical 

researcher who has been an inspirational leader and role model in the field of ibd research, and contributed 

significantly to advancing crohn's and colitis canada's mission. the recipient will receive $25,000 to support their ibd research program.


the women in ibd: emerging researcher award acknowledges the basic or clinical research accomplishments 

of a junior/newly emerging female ibd researcher, within 5 years of their first faculty appointment, who has 

shown creativity, initiative and commitment to advancing ibd research and quality of patient care in canada. 

the recipient will receive $15,000 to support their ibd research program.

to the canadian ibd research landscape. self-nominations are also accepted.
