crohn’s and colitis canada research awards

how to apply: 

as the largest non-governmental funder of inflammatory bowel disease (ibd) research in canada, crohn’s and colitis canada proudly celebrates and recognizes canadian ibd researchers for their exceptional contributions to the field of ibd research through four awards. 

 

nominations are being accepted until august 15, 2022 at 5 pm et.

 

  • the research leadership award recognizes an individual who demonstrates leadership in the field of ibd research, significantly contributes to advancing crohn’s and colitis research in canada, and makes exceptional contributions to crohn’s and colitis canada’s mission and promise. the recipient will be invited to present their research at the annual meeting of the minds conference. registration, hotel and travel covered by crohn’s and colitis canada.

 

  • the rising star award recognizes the basic or clinical research accomplishments of an outstanding emerging investigator, within five years of their first faculty appointment. the recipient is an innovative leader who advances crohn's and colitis research in canada, and has made an outstanding contribution to crohn’s and colitis canada’s mission. the recipient will be invited to present their research at the annual meeting of the minds conference. registration, hotel and travel covered by crohn’s and colitis canada.

 

crohn’s and colitis canada and pfizer canada’s women in ibd awards provide research program funding to recognize women of influence who are making outstanding contributions to the field of ibd research.

 

  • the outstanding researcher award recognizes an exceptional female ibd basic or clinical researcher who has been an inspirational leader and role model in the field of ibd research, and contributed significantly to advancing crohn’s and colitis canada’s mission. the recipient will receive $25,000 to support their ibd research program. 

 

  • the emerging researcher award acknowledges the basic or clinical research accomplishments of a junior/newly emerging female ibd researcher, within 5 years of their first faculty appointment, who has shown creativity, initiative and commitment to advancing ibd research and quality of patient care in canada. the recipient will receive $15,000 to support their ibd research program. 

 

we encourage you to nominate your ibd colleagues for these research awards to recognize their contributions to the canadian ibd research landscape. self-nominations are accepted.

cmc microsystems recognizes excellence in canadian micro-nano research by canada’s national design network through its annual douglas r. colton award. established in honour of the founding president of cmc microsystems, this award includes a medal and a monetary prize of $4,500.

faculty, 世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛 or alumni who have successfully completed a master’s or phd degree in a canadian university within the previous three calendar years are eligible for this award.

addf-harrington scholar award

how to apply: 

the alzheimer's drug discovery foundation (addf) and harrington discovery institute provide funding and drug development support of research efforts that aim to treat or prevent alzheimer’s disease, related dementias and cognitive-decline associated with aging. each year up to two addf-harrington scholars are chosen. the award includes:

  • two-year grant
  • funding up to $600,000
  • drug development expertise and project management support
  • a personalized team of drug developers and project manager for each award recipient
  • expert business, commercialization and clinical development advice

quantum leap pharma-led funding program for drug discovery research

how to apply: 

cqdm’s quantum leap pharma-led funding program for drug discovery research helps smes or canadian universities achieve innovative translational biopharmaceutical research projects. projects selected as part of the quantum leap program focus on developing cutting-edge technologies with the potential to significantly advance the r&d activities of cqdm’s pharmaceutical members. quantum leap projects are executed in close collaboration and with the expert support and funds of pharmaceutical members.

the enabling technologies, innovative platforms and/or innovative therapies derived from the quantum leap pharma-led funding program for drug discovery research are selected for their potential to significantly improve, facilitate and/or accelerate the drug discovery process and the development of safer and more effective drugs. the technologies of interest can be at any stage of the drug development process and involve a wide range of therapeutic indications.

projects are associated with specific deliverables and must be ready for use by cqdm pharmaceutical members upon completion. for scientists, the funded research opens new collaboration opportunities with world-class stakeholders in the industry.

idrc international doctoral research awards (idrc-idra)

how to apply: 

idrc has helped graduate 世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛 undertake thesis research in the field of international development since 1982. idrc international doctoral research awards (idra) are intended to build capacity and develop research skills in canada and the global south to improve the lives of people in the developing world. the objective of the project is to strengthen the capacities of emerging researchers at canadian universities, growing the cohort of researchers able to design, lead and carry out high quality research that contributes to the sustainable development goals and specific development outcome areas of particular interest to idrc. this call for applications is open to canadians, permanent residents of canada, and citizens of developing countries pursuing doctoral studies at a canadian university. awards will cover the costs of field research conducted for a doctoral dissertation in one or more countries in the global south.
