call for research and evaluation proposals

how to apply:

the objective of the ontario centre for workforce innovation (ocwi) research and innovation fund is to support research, evaluation and innovation projects to improve opportunities for people to obtain, retain, or advance in terms of employment, become more productive participants in the labour force and improve well-being.

the ocwi will fund research, evaluation and innovation projects that align with these priorities and that will produce or improve knowledge, practice, and impact in the training and employment sector.

this is the first in a series of call for proposals to be issued by the ocwi over the next year. this particular phase focuses on research on a particular issue or evaluation of a program/service delivery approach in ontario which has the potential for impact. in accordance with ocwi criteria and guidelines, research may include synthesis projects, inquiry projects, evaluation and impact projects.

the expectation is that research projects funded under this call will be granted up to $25,000, however, under special circumstances the ocwi may consider an award of funding up to $50,000.

each applicant needs to identify estimated costs to assist evaluators in awarding appropriate funds. the estimated costs will be used to determine the level of funding. the proposal should identify the costs eligible for funding (salaries for researchers, travel, direct expenses and overhead/indirect costs).

if a project is approved, payment is provided to a recipient’s organization on their behalf. organizations are required to complete a financial statement outlining how project funds were spent at the end of the project to verify that funding was solely applied to costs directly related to the activities as outlined in the budget.

proposals must provide details for all budget costs and align with budget guidelines.
