how to apply: 

veterans affairs canada is looking for a researcher to design and conduct a qualitative study to better understand the relationship between canadian armed forces (caf) veterans’ identities and their well-being in military-civilian transition (mct). the objective of this work is to see how caf veteran’s view themselves, and how they think others view them by identifying factors that they perceive influence their identities in mct, and how their personal identities affect their well-being. 

the canadian institute for military and veteran health research (cimvhr) has entered into partnership with the government of canada to procure research and development services related to the mental, social and physical wellbeing of active military members, veterans and their families.  cimvhr is seeking notices of interest from qualified researchers or a research team to enter into a contract with cimvhr to produce this work.

 the successful candidate will have the following minimum qualifications:

  • one or more senior investigators with an md or a phd in a relevant discipline;
  • demonstrated expertise and experience in conducting the type of work specified in the statement of work (sow) and a substantial history of publication in the research area;
  • demonstrated experience in research design and analysis appropriate to the scope of work;
  • work experience with and or knowledge of the unique requirements of canadian armed forces personnel or veterans;
  • a faculty appointment at one of cimvhr’s partner universities (a list of partner universities is available at https://cimvhr.ca/university-partners);
  • be able to meet project deliverables within stated timelines;

defence research and development canada, is looking for a researcher to conduct an analysis of up to 100 participant’s worth of actigraph data, collected during rcn sea trials, using ambulatory monitoring incorporated (ami) sourced software. the objective of this work is to allow a validation of the drdc fatigue model by comparison of analyzed actigraph sleep parameters to those predicted by the model.

health technologies fund (htf)

how to apply: 
the  health technologies fund (htf) supports the development of made-in-ontario health technologies by accelerating evaluation, procurement, adoption and uptake across the ontario health system.
 
the health priority area for the htf is better care closer to home, which supports technologies that deliver better coordinated and integrated care in the home and community. projects must be led by a publicly-funded healthcare service provider and include a problem statement that supports pre-market evaluation or early adoption of an innovative technology.

kids brain health network (kbhn): request for applications

how to apply: 

kids brain health network (kbhn), a national network of centres of excellence (nce), is currently in its 8th year of a possible 15 years of funding, extending to 2025. we are soliciting proposals for funds we will invest in three different project types in years 9 and 10. our intention is to create the foundation for impact teams that will become the core of our strategy through to the end of our nce lifecycle and beyond. 

in 2014, kbhn received five years of renewed nce funding (cycle 2). in 2019, kids brain health network will be applying to the nce program for another five-year renewal of funding (cycle 3). in preparation for this second renewal, kbhn is soliciting projects for years 9-10 (2018-2020) of cycle 2 to help develop outstanding research teams that will contribute to the next five years of success, and beyond. eligible projects will emphasize innovation, have national scope, and possess potential for cross-disciplinary networking and synergy with kbhn efforts. successful teams will address issues that are relevant to patients, parents and caregivers, improve the quality of life of individuals with ndd, and identify partners who will help drive the research agenda. the research needs to go from knowledge to impact, and provide promise of sustainability. material support from institutions and/or industrial partners is crucial.
