the objective of the flights and fieldwork for the advancement of science and technology (fast) announcement of opportunity (ao) is to support canadian universities and post-secondary institutions research projects that offer hands-on experience in space-like missions to canadian highly qualified personnel (hqp) and more precisely to 世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛 and young researchers (post-doctoral fellows or pdfs) in order to acquire competencies required by the marketplace.

the primary result sought from this opportunity is to attract and train canadian hqp to build capacity to enable canada's future competitiveness and productivity in the space sector.

building canadian capacity in space science and technology is a priority for the canadian space agency (csa). canada must develop and maintain a robust and experienced workforce within industry, academia, and government in order to continue playing an active role in future space missions and contributing to canada's economic growth. opportunities to participate in a space mission, including developing and using scientific instruments for satellites, the international space station (iss) or other space-based platforms, are infrequent, but when a space mission activity is approved, a team with expertise and experience must be quickly formed to meet challenging schedule constraints driven by launch or market opportunities.

"space-like missions" are projects that allow space experts in academia to propose interesting research suitable to maintain their expertise, attract and train the next generation of space professionals, and prepare future space missions. these projects consist generally of:

• designing, building, modifying or testing scientific instruments or technologies;
• using them in a simulated space environment, or flying them on suborbital or miniature orbital platforms (nanosatellites);
• developing new approaches to use efficiently technology or applications in space or for space; and when appropriate,
• conducting data acquisition and/or analysis to address scientific and/or operational objectives.

the era-net “e-rare” for research programmes on rare diseases has been extended to a third phase “e-rare-3” (2014-2019) to further help in coordinating the research efforts of european countries in the field of rare diseases and implement the objectives of international rare disease research consortium (irdirc).

the aim of the call is to enable scientists in different countries to build an effective collaboration on a common interdisciplinary research project based on complementarities and sharing of expertise, with a clear translational research approach. projects shall involve a group of rare diseases or a single rare disease following the european definition i.e. a disease affecting not more than five in 10 000 persons in the european community, ec associated states and canada.

the research projects have to focus on hypothesis-driven use of multi-omic integrated approaches for discovery of disease causes and/or functional validation in the context of rare diseases.

the purpose and priorities of the 2018 competition are the encouragement of innovations in the assessment of clinical competence or performance of 世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛 , postgraduate trainees or practitioners. priority will be given to proposals that show promise in contributing to the knowledge and understanding of measurement in clinical assessment and to clinical program evaluation methods for medical education. the proposal must focus on research, not development, in the assessment of performance or clinical assessment.

the specific objectives of this funding opportunity are to:

• enable new and established investigators to undertake innovative clinical trials in using new or existing methods;
• support the development and testing of innovative methods;
• build capacity for ict research through training and mentoring.

the joint canada-israel health research program (the program) seeks to support fundamental research at the cutting-edge of biomedical science. this fourth call for proposals is directed toward basic biomedical sciences in neurobiology, while building capacity and furthering the knowledge-base in low and middle income countries

the organizations funding this program support the search for breakthroughs in health sciences that have the potential to bring about enduring changes across the globe, including in developing regions. the program will support world-class research teams co-led by canadian and israeli investigators. the teams will be expected to integrate researchers from low and middle income countries (see appendix a for list of eligible countries) to further their scientific capacity. in their capacity as collaborators or trainees, researchers in eligible countries will contribute to and benefit from their involvement in the initiative.

teams are encouraged to integrate sex and gender perspectives into their research, including where relevant sex- and gender-based analysis (sgba). sgba is an approach that systematically examines sex-based (biological) and gender-based (socio-cultural) differences, to promote rigorous science that is sensitive to sex and gender and has the potential to expand our understanding of health determinants for all people.

the low carbon innovation fund is a fund to help researchers, entrepreneurs and companies create and commercialize new, globally competitive, low-carbon technologies that will help ontario meet its ghg emissions reductions targets. the low carbon innovation fund is part of ontario's climate change action plan and is funded by proceeds from the province's carbon market.

the technology validation stream will provide up to 75% of a project’s expenses to eligible ontario companies (per project), and up to 95% to eligible academic organizations (per project) to fund proof-of-concept and prototyping projects. the maximum contribution from the province is $5 million. the applicant and/or its partners must provide the remainder of the funding.

for 2017-2018, to be considered for a technology validation stream grant,
applicants must:
• complete an online eligibility assessment (ea) to confirm their eligibility
and readiness for the lcif program for ministry review;
• if approved for eligibility by the ministry, submit a technology validation
stream business case through the online system.

potential applicants must submit an eligibility assessment and will be notified by ministry staff if they are eligible to submit a business case.

the technology validation stream will allow for eligibility assessments to be submitted beginning on november 15th with a submission deadline of december 10th at 11:59 pm. ministry staff will endeavour to provide a response to within 3 business days. the ea instructions include a link to a pdf version of the business case inputs to enable applicants to work offline on the business case in advance of having online access as of december 14, 2017. on december 14, eligible applicants will be sent a link to complete the business case submission through the online portal.

the technology validation business case submission deadline is january 7th at 11:59 pm.
