psychological health/traumatic brain injury research program (ph/tbirp)

how to apply:

the fy13 ph/tbi research program tbi endpoints development (ted) award mechanism supports the establishment of a collaborative, multidisciplinary research team to advance endpoints for use in trials involving diagnosis and treatment of mild to moderate tbi (mtbi to modtbi). while a number of potentially useful endpoints for mtbi to modtbi diagnostics and therapeutics exist, a majority of them have not been validated and qualified for use as a reference measure of diagnostic or therapeutic effectiveness. the ted research team will address a critical need within the tbi research community by developing clinically relevant endpoints that can support regulatory approvals and be applicable for use in research tests and clinical trials.

how to apply:

the institute of cancer research (icr) in partnership with the national cancer institute of the nih and genome bc are pleased to announce the launch of a new funding opportunity to enable canadian participation in the quantitative imaging network (qin) established by the national cancer institute (nci) of the national institutes of health (nih).  this partnership between us and canadian researchers will promote research on quantitative imaging for prediction and measurement of tumour response to cancer therapies in clinical trial settings, with the overall goal of facilitating clinical decision making and personalized medicine approaches.

the nci has already established a quantitative imaging network (qin) that currently has 17 research teams across the us that share ideas and approaches to validate and standardize imaging data and related imaging metadata for quantitative measurements of responses to cancer therapies. the goal of this current initiative is enable the canadian cancer imaging research community to establish up to two canadian teams as an integral part of qin.
