call for proposals: the regional fund for agricultural technology (fontagro) “innovations for family agriculture adaptation to climate change in latin america and the caribbean.”

this call for proposal 2014 is jointly conducted by fontagro and the "climate technology transfer mechanisms and networks in latin america and the caribbean (lac)" project funded by the global environment facility (gef) and implemented by the inter-american development bank (idb). this project aims at promoting the development and transfer of environmentally appropriate technologies in lac that contribute to reducing greenhouse gas emissions and vulnerability to climate change in specific sectors.

the call for proposals is aimed at supporting innovation platforms or similar coordination mechanisms that promote competitiveness and sustainability. platforms are formed by public and private partners which share vision, mission and objectives, and thus facilitate the innovation process in the region.

2014-15 call for proposals for the ontario human capital research and innovation fund (ohcrif)

how to apply: 

the ministry of training, colleges and universities (mtcu) is pleased to announce the 2014-15 call for proposals for the ontario human capital research and innovation fund (ohcrif).

the purpose of ohcrif is to support research and innovation projects that identify better ways to help people prepare for, return to or keep employment and become productive participants in the labour force. ohcrif is funded through the canada-ontario labour market development agreement and is being used to improve knowledge in the areas of postsecondary education, labour market, and employment and training policy.

this is an open call for proposals that will provide funding for faculty and non-faculty researchers at postsecondary institutions, graduate 世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛 , and researchers affiliated with public and non-profit organizations or research firms.

the research priorities for 2014-15 are the following:

  • skills, productivity and return on investment
  • policies to support postsecondary education (pse) and training
  • learning environments and teaching quality
  • the contribution of pse and training to social inclusion
  • improving the evidence-base for labour market programs, policy and service delivery

ohcrif will be used to support short-term projects that can be completed between july 2014 and march 2015. ohcrif will be used to fund both review projects (i.e. literature reviews and environmental scans) and original research projects. the application deadline is june 16, 2014.

  • be a non-partisan, not-for-profit organization legally founded and registered as an independent entity in the country of operation. only non-partisan and not-for-profit organizations can be included in a consortium.  
  • be an african organization. united nations agencies and international organizations based in africa or overseas are ineligible to be the lead organization or to be part of a consortium.  
  • support a health policy development and implementation mandate through knowledge brokering, analysis, and research. 
  • work in at least one of the targeted countries and demonstrate willingness and capacity to expand their work in all the other targeted countries in the selected hpro region (east or west).
