call for proposals for marine response research

eligibility:

these grants are specifically aimed at university faculty members and postdoctoral fellows with
expertise in the social sciences. interdisciplinary researchers with related training are also encouraged
to apply.  proposals may be submitted by a single researcher or a small team.

how to apply:

meopar is pleased to issue a call for proposals for our new response research grant program.

following the success of our observation and prediction cores, meopar is looking to fund projects to expand research capacity in our response core. this call aims to support social science investigations and strengthen the integration of social science and natural science research within the network.

meopar’s use of the term ‘response’ is broader than ‘emergency response’ and refers to aspects such as decision-making, solutions and impacts. the scope of the call encompasses investigations of vulnerability, preparedness, consequence analysis, prevention, mitigation, resilience, recovery, community planning, policy, and regulation.

the response research grant program will fund a number of multi-year research projects that closely align with meopar’s strategic plan and research focus on marine risk and response. research partnerships, new initiatives, and postdoctoral fellowships will be considered.

proposals are required to have practical goals with clear evidence of end-user involvement in the identification of the research topic to be addressed and the formulation, support and conduct of the research itself.

please see the attached document for further details.
