these fellowships support the most promising canadian new scholars in the social sciences and humanities, and assist them in establishing a research base at an important time in their research careers.

they provide stipendiary support to recent phd graduates who are:

• undertaking original research;

• developing and expanding personal research networks;
• broadening their teaching experience;
• preparing for research-intensive careers within and beyond academia; and
• preparing to become competitive in national research grant competitions.

fellowships will normally be awarded to candidates affiliated with a university other than the one that awarded the phd. sshrc postdoctoral fellowship awards are tenable at canadian or foreign universities and research institutions.

sshrc welcomes applications involving indigenous research, as well as those involving research-creation.

aid to scholarly journals grants respond to the objectives of the connection program. they support canadian scholarly dissemination by offering a contribution to enable journals to explore innovative activities as well as to help them to defray the costs associated with publishing scholarly articles, digital publishing and journal distribution on canadian not-for-profit platforms.

aid to scholarly journals grants are meant to:

• increase dissemination, discoverability and readership of original research results in the social sciences and humanities through canadian scholarly journals;
• leverage significant federal investments in digital scholarly publishing infrastructure;
• assist journals as they seek to take advantage of developments in digital technologies and innovative practices; and
• encourage the transition to open access models of publishing.

the spor ict rewarding success initiative is expected to:

1. incentivize multidisciplinary research teams and their healthcare and innovation partners to design, adopt, and evaluate interventions implemented into a healthcare delivery organization that enhance value-based care, health system sustainability, and health outcomes.
2. support innovative process transformations that improve health outcomes and value for canada’s healthcare investment.

the cihr institute of human development, child and youth health (ihdcyh) is launching its fifth round of the ihdcyh talks video competition, a unique opportunity to submit short videos (recommended maximum length of 5 minutes) sharing evidence-based messages in the area of maternal, reproductive, child and youth health. this competition encourages the production of videos that present a clear evidence-based message to a lay audience that is designed to have a positive impact on the health of children, youth and families.

this competition is soliciting videos not just from members of the research community, but also more widely from non-governmental or not-for-profit organizations (including community or charitable organizations), as well as members of the general public who are able to demonstrate a clear, evidence-based message related to ihdcyh's mandate.

successful videos will be posted on cihr and ihdcyh social media and shared through other communications channels. it is important that the content be engaging, easily understood and accessible to a lay audience.
