webinar - canada-france call for proposals on artificial intelligence
nserc’s alliance communications team will be offering a presentation on the canada-france call for proposals on artificial intelligence for university faculty members and researchers on february 12th at 11:00 am et.
interested researchers are asked to register ahead of time by clicking on the link below and then clicking the “register” button on the event page.
this joint initiative between the french national research agency (anr), and the three federal research funding agencies – the natural sciences and engineering research council of canada (nserc), the social sciences and humanities research council of canada (sshrc), and the canadian institutes of health research (cihr), in collaboration with ivado, was announced on september 18, 2024, and the complete literature was published on december 19, 2024. the deadline to submit proposals is the end of march 2025; the exact date will be confirmed later.
as per the initial announcement, teams from france registered their intent to apply in october 2024. a number of these registrations identified canadian researchers with whom they intend to collaborate (these researchers will be invited to the webinars). however, since the canadian membership may change between the registration stage and the submission of the full proposal, nserc has requested that universities reach out to researchers from the natural sciences and engineering, the health, and the social sciences and humanities domains who still may be interested in this opportunity.
the presentation will focus on the objectives of the call and on the requirements for the canadian teams to apply for funds. nserc will be responsible for receiving and assessing the eligibility of the canadian applications on behalf of the three councils. where applicable, ivado will evaluate the requests for supplements that are included in the proposals. representatives from nserc, sshrc, cihr and ivado will be present at the webinar to answer questions.
researchers are welcome to submit their questions about this call for proposals ahead of the information session via the registration link (see below). when registering for the session, there will be an optional text box for advance questions.
