applied life sciences

世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛 in the applied life sciences program will study living organisms at the bio-molecular level.

this interdisciplinary program offers a unique blend of courses from anthropology, biology, chemistry and physics. emphasis is placed on hands-on application of bio-molecular theories through laboratory courses and research opportunities.

the program is designed to prepare for careers in the health sector, the biotechnology industry, diagnostic laboratories, or forensics.

interested in applied life sciences?

the goal of the applied life sciences program is to develop basic knowledge and hands-on skills in modern applications of life sciences research in anthropology, biology, chemistry, and physics. you will gain understanding of the normal and applied function of biologically derived molecules. emphasis will be on forensic, biotechnological and diagnostic applications.

through this program you will learn to ...

  • understand the basic principles of life systems.
  • appreciate the extent and meaning of biological diversity at the molecular level
  • demonstrate a high standard of bio-molecular literacy.
  • apply a set of contemporary research skills that can be used to solve basic and applied problems in molecular biology through inquiry.
  • develop critical thought, reflective experience, and appreciation of life sciences in a wider context.
  • employ and demonstrate skills in critical thinking, problem solving and communication

what is applied life sciences?

applied life sciences involves investigation of living organisms at the cellular level. this integrates knowledge from various disciplines, such as

  • cell biology and genetics
  • microbiology and biochemistry
  • physiology and pharmacology
  • biological physics
  • biological anthropology

the hands-on work in the laboratory during courses and through research internships will allow you to

  • gain experience working in a laboratory setting and operate equipment
  • analyze and interpret scientific data
  • work in group settings
  • prepare reports and present them in written or oral formats

graduates will be prepared to pursue careers in:

  • health sciences - admission to medicine, veterinary medicine, pharmacy, optometry, dentistry
  • government agencies - public health inspector, dietician, scientist, policy analyst
  • bio-economy - pharmaceutical industry, biotechnology company, food industry, analytical laboratory
  • postgraduate research - admission to msc and phd program
  • allied life science areas – science journalism, patent law, business administration, research coordination
