“i’m currently working at a company called innovative automation. they specialize in designing and building automated machinery, specifically for the medical and automotive fields. i’m working as a controls programmer, where my tasks include programming robots, plc’s (programmable logic controllers), databases, hmi’s (human machine interfaces) and many other devices.

i chose lakehead-georgian mainly for how unique this program is, as being able to graduate with both a degree and a diploma in electrical engineering in four years is a very powerful combination. when i was in high school and looking at programs to apply for, there was no other program like this for engineering, and the idea of having both a degree and a diploma really stood out to me, as it will set you aside from other graduates. it is so valuable to be able to go to an employer and say that you not only understand the theory about how things work, but you also understand how things work practically, and you have both a degree and a diploma to prove that.”
