dr. todd dufresne, department of philosophy, 阿根廷vs墨西哥竞猜 and dr. mark kingwell, department of philosophy, university of toronto, invite you to a double book launch; an author question and answer session will follow with delivery of selected readings from their books.

dr. dufresne's  book, the democracy of suffering: life on the edge of catastrophe, philosophy in the anthropocene was published with mcgill-queen's university press, september 2019. you may read about the book in a new interview with dufresne, "for the love of wisdom: climate change and the revenge of history", recently published at the los angeles review of books (larb).

the famous environmentalist, bill mckibben, writes that "this is a very fine book: philosophy perfectly attuned to our precise -- and unique -- moment, a moment when our species has suddenly become very big indeed."
