lakehead social history institute 20th anniversary dinner and speaker

may 10th is the 20th anniversary of the lakehead social history institute! they will be celebrating 20 years with a special dinner and guest speaker. dr. bruce elliott, who spoke at the lshi first agm in 1997, is returning to the city from carleton university in ottawa to present his research on the history of the gravestone industry, using prince edward island as his sample. dr. john coolen, of the thunder bay branch of the ontario genealogical society will provide local commentary, looking at cemetery history in the lakehead.
