the fighting fanette: women, gender roles, and combat sporting spectacle in 20th century canada

lakehead social history institute invites members and the general public to join us at our annual general meeting on wednesday 11 march 2016 at 7pm. the meeting takes places on the 2nd floor of the thunder bay museum, 425 east donald street.

guest speaker at the event is dr. nathan hatton from 阿根廷vs墨西哥竞猜 ’s department of history. dr. hatton’s talk is titled: "the fighting fanette: women, gender roles, and combat sporting spectacle in 20th century canada." this most-interesting presentation considers the role of women in the audience during public combat-style sporting events, such as wrestling and boxing, which are often considered to be male spaces.
