the legacy of hope foundation (lhf) is an indigenous-led, charitable organization founded in 2000 with the goal of educating and raising awareness about the history and ongoing impacts of the residential school system on generations of first nations, inuit and metis survivors and their families.
developed in 2001, the goals of where are the children? healing the legacy of the residential schools are to: acknowledge the experiences of, and the impacts and consequences of canada’s residential school system on aboriginal peoples; and to promote public awareness, understanding and education of the history and legacy of residential schools.
