finding books in the library

to find books on a specific topic, try doing a subject search

  1. go to the online catalogue and choose subject heading from the drop-down menu
  2. type in your search term-  for example - cold war and then click on the search button
  3. note the different subjects related to the cold war

 

sometimes, the subject heading doesn't match your search term so below are some tips for searching popular subjects:

  • war of 1812 - use united states history war of 1812
  • world war i -  use world war, 1914-1918
  • world war ii - use world war, 1939-1945
  • industrial revolution - use great britain economic conditions 1760-1860

books with d, e, and f call numbers are found on the 3rd floor of the chancellor paterson library, or may be at other libraries.
