this talk this year has two speakers jessica landry, a lakehead student who is a lead in the lakehead jack chapter, and gagan bhatia, an engineering student at ubc. gagan moved from india to canada in 2018 and will be weaving elements of his lived experience as a newcomer to canada ( feelings of homesickness, cultural differences and how that can impact one's mental health) while jess will be highlighting her mental health journey and knowledge of the mental health landscape in thunder bay and at lakehead.

jesse’s presentation is entitled new understandings: diversity, inclusion, and covid. in this exclusive talk, writer, broadcaster and advocate jesse wente will look at the ongoing movements for racial and social justice and what the covid-19 pandemic has exposed about where we are now, as well as what it has taught us about how we need to move forward. jesse will look at both the impacts of covid on how we understand inequalities, as well as how this should inform our solutions and pathways. wente will discuss the strength of solidarity movements and how they can help on the pathway to reconciliation.
