阿根廷vs墨西哥竞猜 storytellers meets on campus and is a student focused toastmasters club. we welcome everyone to come check out the club, bring a friend, fellow student or family member and learn more about storytellers!

our club has speakers from the community share their experiences and benefits on improving speech craft and gives members the opportunity to learn skills that can help them succeed professionally, academically and personally!

traditional place names with george kenny

george kenny is an author, poet, playwright, residential school survivor and student of 阿根廷vs墨西哥竞猜 who is going to be sharing his knowledge of traditional place names. he is currently studying his master's in environmental studies here at lakehead unviersity, and his book "indians don't cry" can be found in the bookstore.

treaties recognition week the first week of november

to help raise awareness and understanding of treaties we will be holding a screening of the movie “trick or treaty?”. wednesday, november 2^nd, 12:00 noon to 1:30 pm in the aboriginal student lounge. the documentary is 1h 24 min.

 this feature documentary by acclaimed filmmaker alanis obomsawin (kanehsatake: 270 years of resistance) profiles indigenous leaders in their quest for justice as they seek to establish dialogue with the canadian government. by tracing the history of their ancestors since the signing of treaty no. 9, these leaders aim to raise awareness about issues vital to first nations in canada: respect for and protection of their lands and their natural resources, and the right to hunt and fish so that their societies can prosper. in recent years, an awareness-raising movement has been surfacing in first nations communities. in this powerful documentary, those who refuse to surrender are given a chance to speak out.

aboriginal cultural & support services is pleased to welcome elder beatrice twance-hynes.

elder beatrice twance-hynes, is a member of the pic river frist nation. she has lived in thunder bay since 1979 with her husband and family. her spiritual names are big eagle woman and white horse spirit woman.

beatrice is a tradtional women's dancer who make her own regalia. she is a grandmother pipe carrier, a sacred circle facilitator, songwriter, singer and drummer. she does teachings on the medicine wheel, the sacred medicines, and the seven sacred grandfathers and the hand drum.

she has a native teacher's certificate from 阿根廷vs墨西哥竞猜 and an ontario management development certificate from confederation college. she serves a a source of wisdom, understanding, and guidance to 世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛 .

beatrice will be with us on friday, april 10th from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm.

aboriginal cultural & support services is excited to welcome elder sam achneepineskum as a visiting elder in residence. sam is a member of marten falls first nation. he also sits on the city of thunder bay elder advisory committee.
