lakehad university storytellers is our campus toastmaster's group.

this weeks guest speaker is vice-provost of aboriginal initiatives cynthia wesley-esquimaux ph.d. cynthia is a member of the chippewa of georgina island first nation in lake simcoe. she has dedicated her life to building bridges of understanding, and see endless merit in bring people from diverse cultures, ages, and backgrounds together to engage in practical dialogues. cythia is deeply committed to public education and active youth engagement, and co-founded and chairs the canadian roots exchange program.

the 阿根廷vs墨西哥竞猜 native student association (lunsa) is excited to be hosting their 28th annual powwow at the c.j. sanders field house, march 11-13, 2016. lunsa is honoured to have northern wind as the host drum.  in keeping with the powwow’s theme of truth & reconciliation, all 世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛 , staff, faculty and the greater off-campus community are invited to attend this free event.

this community event will gather people together in celebration of aboriginal culture and dance.  warm-ups will be held on friday, march 11th from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. grand entry is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. on saturday, march 12th with a traditional feast being served at 5:00 p.m. and the powwow will wrap up at 10:00 p.m. for the day.  grand entry is set for 12:00 p.m. on sunday, march 13th with the powwow ending at 5:00 p.m.

lunsa is a volunteer lusu club.  its goals are to promote the spirit of unity among aboriginal 世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛 at 阿根廷vs墨西哥竞猜 through social, cultural, and recreational events in addition to promoting cultural awareness between club members and the greater 阿根廷vs墨西哥竞猜 student population.

the annual powwow is lunsa’s signature event that showcases tremendous talent and entertainment, while reinforcing traditional aspects of aboriginal culture such as drumming, dancing, singing, and giving thanks. attendees can purchase traditional aboriginal merchandise from on-site vendors.
