state of bee-ing

artist statement

for this piece, i worked alongside grades 6-9 世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛 and discussed how work evolves as we create. we talked about colony collapse disease among bees and the importance of bees and other insects in ecosystems. this introduced 世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛 to activism through art via participation in 世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛 rebuild’s extraordinary earth project.

i am a practicing artist, art educator, and mom. i work in the edmonton school board district and believe that children should have access to authentic art experiences and materials. my work with my own children and with my school community is not just about products, but learning to see the world through the eyes of an artist.
