about this job
reporting to the president & vice-chancellor, the executive assistant will provide executive level
assistance and support to the office of the president. the incumbent will be responsible for ensuring
that the coordination and completion of the complex administrative tasks are executed in an efficient,
professional, and timely manner. the work of the executive assistant is conducted with a high level of
confidentiality and professionalism. this role is a key member of the office of the president's
administrative team supporting and contributing to the efficient functioning of the office. the executive
assistant will be responsible for providing administrative support to the president's portfolio under the
direction of the chief of staff. a high level of commitment is required, and the ability to be effective in a
deadline driven environment where change is constant.
qualifications
● post-secondary education along with a minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience working in a senior executive office, preferably at a post-secondary institution
● exceptional organizational skills and ability to prioritize meeting deadlines while balancing competing needs.
● exceptional computer skills including experience with presentation software (powerpoint) and
various office programs including microsoft office (word, excel, etc.) and concur.
● comprehensive experience providing administrative support to executives and or committees,
including agenda preparation.
● ability to perform at exceptional levels in listening and communication skills, spelling and
grammar skills, both written and verbal and problem analysis.

the faculty of law is expanding its first-year cohort to include one section of online intensive learners. to support this expansion, we are seeking applications from outstanding established and emerging scholars with a j.d./ll.b., and a graduate degree in law or a cognate discipline. the ability to teach subjects taught in the first-year curriculum is required. teaching interests and expertise related to the mandate areas of the faculty of law will be looked upon very favorably, and experience with experiential learning and online or alternative modes of delivery is highly desired.willingness to teach both in person and online (no hybrid) is required. candidates must be eligible for licensing with any canadian law society.
the bora laskin faculty of law is known for its innovative curriculum with mandatory courses in aboriginal and indigenous law implemented in 2013. at the bora laskin faculty of law, practice skills learning is integrated into the curriculum of substantive courses. the law society of ontario approved the integrated practice curriculum (ipc) in 2013 for the law school to serve as a leader and model in providing legal practice skills as part of the j.d. program.
