the successful candidate will have a ph.d. completed (or very near to completion) with emphasis on early reading and elementary language arts teacher education. experience as an instructor in a teacher education program is highly desirable, and experience in the elementary school system is essential.  the position will include both teaching and service responsibilities in the consecutive and concurrent bachelor of education programs at the orillia campus, as well as involvement in graduate teaching and supervision. applicants must demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching excellence and service, and will be expected to develop a relevant research program.

lakehead legal services will be opening its doors in may 2015. our mandate is to provide excellent legal service to low income clients, as well as an experience based educational program for lakehead law 世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛 .  our work includes individual case files, teaching, community outreach and public legal education.

 

we are seeking an energetic, highly organized, flexible, individual with sound judgement, and excellent interpersonal skills, to join the clinic as our office administrator.  the clinic will be providing legal services for low-income clients, initially, in the areas of criminal law, and provincial offences, with a view to expanding areas of service  as time and resources allow.  familiarity with the legal system and experience with the administration of a busy law office environment is essential.

 
reporting to the clinic director, the office administrator ensures smooth operation of all day to day administrative matters at the clinic, including:
 

       providing administrative assistance to the director as needed; screening and referring calls and determining potential eligibility of clients;

       maintaining a database to collect and track statistics;

       file management (opening, closing, storing, destruction), and maintaining the clinic's tickler system;

       identifying and recommending changes to clinic policies or procedures as required to maximize office efficiencies and effectiveness;

       liaising with the director and administrative manager to monitor and track clinic income and expenses, as well as, budget related issues and submissions, and day to day financial transactions of the clinic;

job description: the purpose of this internship is to train an intern on conducting research on developing a process for producing sulfonated kraft lignin to be used as a dispersant in the mining industry. the intern will study relevant literature, conduct experiments and analyze data at the biomass utilization research laboratory (burl). the intern will be involved in the research investigation on the modification of kraft lignin to produce anionic lignin and on assessing the performance of the product in various ore  samples received from a mining company. he/she will use nmr, ftir, btg, tga, chns and hplc to evaluate the properties of the sulfonated kraft lignin, and will compare the properties of commercial lignosulfonates with his/her product using various instruments including turbidity, zeta potential and light scattering analyzers.
 
qualifications: the intern can be a recent graduate (with a bsc or msc degree) in chemical engineering, chemistry, biology or forestry.
the intern must also not have previously participated in an internship program. internships must provide first-time employment in a related field. recent foreign graduates with canadian degrees are also welcome to apply.

the case study approach will be used to explore the concepts of holistic care of persons with dementia. principles, theories and knowledge of dementia and dementia care acquired will be integrated into these cases.

 

preferred qualifications:

 

post graduate degree in a discipline related to gerontology;

familiarity with basic concepts, issues and current trends in dementia care;

ability to teach gerontology from an interdisciplinary perspective;

experience with interacting with older adults;

the ability to perform various duties of the position, and applicable prior experience;

preference will be given to candidates with successful experience using distance education modes of delivery (particularly online course delivery); and
