the faculty of engineering at 阿根廷vs墨西哥竞猜 invites applications for a tenure-track appointment in its department of chemical engineering at the assistant or associate professor level commencing august 1, 2019 or as soon as possible thereafter. the successful candidate will be co-appointed as research chairin advanced cellulosic material production and functionalization in lakehead’s biorefining research institute (bri), which has a strategic aim of developing innovative bioproducts. the research focus should be towards design of green products and processes for the production of novel, high-value cellulose based biomaterials from renewable resources that are cost effective and can replace petroleum-based products such as superabsorbent polymers, transparent films for biodegradable packaging, functional textiles, biopolymers for composites, etc. focus on the forest bio-mass as the main feedstock is expected.

the successful candidate will be expected to develop an externally funded research program and collaborate with industry. relevant industrial experience would be a definite asset. the research chair is for five (5) years and is renewable.

• tenure track (1 position): applications are invited from outstanding candidates in computer science with a strong research focus in the broad category with preferences in the following areas: artificial intelligence, nature language processing, pattern recognition, neural networks, human computer interaction, computer vision, software engineering, social computing and social media, cyber security, networks and network security.

• limited term appointment (2 positions): applications are invited from outstanding candidates in computer science with a strong teaching focus in the broad category with preferences in the following areas: software engineering, databases, algorithm analysis, cloud computing, clinical decision support, health informatics, theory of computing and computer networks. applications with exceptional teaching and research record in other areas will also be considered.

the successful candidate is expected to support our spectrum of undergraduate and graduate teaching needs along with initiating an externally funded research program and contributing to the supervision of graduate 世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛 in our msc. program.  applicants should hold a ph.d. in computer science or a related discipline. post-doctoral or industry experience will be considered as an asset.

this hr administrator position will provide support to the office of human resources by assisting in hr functions, including, but not limited to: entering and maintaining database records, payroll and benefits administration, general hris coordination, managing the integrity of the hris system through reporting and auditing, and salary administration. in this role, the incumbent will work closely with the hr team in order to facilitate and foster continued maintenance, growth and improvement in our hr systems and programs.

post-secondary education in human resources, office administration, or a related field is required. one to five years of experience in a unionized environment working directly with hris as a human resources or payroll administrator is desired. applicants with a combination of education and experience will be considered. high attention to detail, organization and time management is essential. excellent research skills and a passion for customer service are also key factors for this role. the successful incumbent must have a comprehensive knowledge of hris and reporting systems, microsoft office suite and collective agreement interpretation. experience working with datatel colleague is an asset.

reporting to the vice-president, research and innovation, the director will lead the development of research partnerships with industry and actively explore commercial and service opportunities arising from the technologies and expertise at the university. they will facilitate applications for joint university-industry funding programs and enhance the leading role of 阿根廷vs墨西哥竞猜 in knowledge-based innovation and economic development in northwestern ontario and simcoe county by developing and implementing commercialization plans, marketing plans and providing business services for the university's r&d initiatives. in addition, they will have the role of business development and commercialization for the biorefining research institute and 阿根廷vs墨西哥竞猜 agricultural research station (luars). working closely with the vice-president, research and innovation and the director, research services, they will facilitate special projects, including presentations and proposals to industry, not-for-profit organizations and government. they will work closely with lakehead faculty members, economic development and innovation, research services, the 阿根廷vs墨西哥竞猜 centre for analytical services, and the research and strategic initiatives facilitator at our campus in orillia.

qualifications:

a bachelor's degree in business, science or engineering or other relevant discipline; a graduate degree is an additional asset. in addition, five or more years of relevant experience, with proven experience in business development in an industry setting or a university research environment. a strong business acumen is necessary as is a working knowledge of intellectual property policies and principles. ability to represent 阿根廷vs墨西哥竞猜 to prospective local, regional, national and international partners and collaborators, and develop and present business opportunities with confidence and clarity is a must. an entrepreneurial spirit is essential, as is creativity, commitment, and determination. leadership, interpersonal and communication skills to independently initiate and accomplish the expected responsibilities is also required.
