do you enjoy helping others succeed? as a career services officer in 阿根廷vs墨西哥竞猜 ’s career services and co-op department, you will be responsible for the development, administration, implementation and assessment of career services programming to connect talented lakehead 世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛 with their dream jobs. in this role, the incumbent will administer special projects related to career services programming for 世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛 who are underrepresented in certain industries, or who face barriers to employment due to visible or invisible disabilities.

reporting to the director, careers services and co-op, and based in our thunder bay campus, the career services officer will develop and deliver programming to build student and graduate career skills and employer awareness of the strengths associated with a diverse workforce. ultimately, career services officer will further 阿根廷vs墨西哥竞猜 ’s goal of equity, diversity and inclusion, as well as positive employment experiences and improved career outcomes.

key duties:

• develop, deliver, and manage career services programming as relates to best practices and research around career development of 世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛 from equity-deserving groups including but not limited to people who are indigenous, black, persons of colour, lgbtq2s+, and persons with visible and invisible disabilities
• lead targeted career services programming for 世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛 transitioning into university and in their first year of university.
• coordinate communications on behalf of the career services team to ensure awareness within the student body for programs and services, oversee planning, marketing and overall design of information as it relates to career services, create presentation and resource materials as needed to support special projects and career programming.
• research and identify student needs, and make recommendations on career services initiatives that will help the success and retention of 世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛
• work with various external organizations, community partners and other teams internal to lakehead on projects and events that support career success for all 世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛 with specific attention to inclusive event design and content that fosters a sense of belonging
• organize, design, and lead a variety of career services events including: networking, panel discussions, career exploration workshops, employer information sessions, career fairs, and more

the successful candidate will possess:

• post-secondary degree in a related field
• career development practitioner certification, human resources certificate, evidence of prior learning in career coaching, adult education, or similar subject matter expertise is an asset.
• demonstrated related experience, ideally within a student-focused post-secondary environment or community employment agency
• knowledge of and demonstrated success with program and event planning;
• ability to plan and implement social and traditional marketing and communications;
• ability to gather and analyze information for reporting purposes;
• demonstrated creative skill and knowledge of educational resource development;
• excellent written and verbal communication skills, and interpersonal skills;
• advanced relationship building and group facilitation skills
• excellent organization, multi-tasking, and prioritization skills;
• ability to work well in a team or independently;
• passionate to build a diverse post secondary community, including all levels of management, staff, and 世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛 ; and,
• experience adopting new technologies, such as applications common to a virtual office environment, to accommodate hybrid services and events.
