lumars in conjunction with the department of anthropology is able to conduct a limited range of analyses of archaeological and biological materials depending on faculty research expertise and availability. previous analytical services have included: starch and phytolith extraction from carbonized food residues, microfossil identification, archaeochemical characterization of residues, and stable isotope sample preparation. the department of anthropology also has 3d scanning and printing equipment and the ability to generate high-quality osteological and artifact casts. please contact dr. tamara varney - tamara.varney@lakeheadu.ca for more information.
