an examination of practice theory and social change strategies that build on a social development perspective. this course draws on social planning and development theory as well as practice experience of change in northern urban and rural environments. topics include: community strengthening through capacity building, empowerment by networking and coalition building, sustainable development to balance socio-economic development and environmental protection, and combatting oppression and social injustice in communities

stse is an acronym for science, technology, society and environment, and refers to investigating the social, political, economic, and cultural aspects of science and technology. critically examining the relationships between science, technology, society and environment is a way of contextualizing science for 世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛 . several approaches to stse will be examined, including historical, philosophical, and sociological approaches, as well as the infusion of environmental education within science education.

the goal of this course is to introduce 世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛 to the ways in which sustainable development (sustainability) is intertwined with theories of health and health promotion. this course will help 世界杯2022赛程表淘汰赛 to develop an understanding of the iterative nature of human and environmental health. this includes understanding of the history and theories of sustainable development, as well as interrogation of the relationship between those theories and theories of social – ecological determinants of health and planetary health. it includes specific examination of the united nation’s sustainable development goals and the ways in which each of those goals relates to various social and ecological health determinants. a key component of this course is reflection on the ways in which sustainability theory and health determinants theory can be mutually supportive in working towards social-ecological health and justice.

a review of current literature and practical applications relating to the concept of sustainable community planning, with specific reference to neighbourhood design, transportation systems, land use zoning, water and energy usage, and agriculture. the measurement of urban sustainability and the sustainability of human activities at regional and city scales are also considered.
