the centre of northern studies is hosting an academic symposium on "rapid change and the future of northern canada: current projections and priorities for research".

this workshop will provide teacher candidates the opportunity to increase their own understanding of fractions through hands-on experience and activities that can be used in your future school classroom. explore ideas using manipulatives and models, and build on these representations to develop procedures for adding and subtracting, division and multiplication.

this workshop will provide teacher candidates with practical strategies, games and activities that develop oral proficiency in the core french classroom.

all of the strategies are theoretically sound and dramatically improve student second language development in all language domains. language strategies involving literature, music, dance, games and activities will be discussed and practiced.
